I miss the voicemail machines with cassette tapes where you just checked for missed calls like once a day instead of "bing! You have a voicemail!"

I see your point. I'm ok with jumping in on my teammates behalf when one of our customers contacts me directly with a heads-up on the back story. It's nothing personal.

I remember when cigarettes were $.25 per pack ($.30 for filtered). However, I was making $1.00 per hour, pumping gas at my Uncle's Chevrolet dealership. Yep, during the winter, washed cars inside wearing only a T shirt, then run outside and pumped gas when the bell rang. AND ...... it was cold and snowing and it was uphill by the pumps (both ways).

Oh yes, a bottle of coke out of a chest type machine was $.05 and gas was $.30 per gallon ($.32 for high test).

Sorry, I'm just reaching back to see how far back I can remember - since I can't remember what the fuck happened last week -

nope. not one bit

sister 'NEEDS' to 'talk' with her friends for hours, takes the super long slinky cord all the way across the house. then complains when dad trips over the cord , yanks it off the wall while falling into the precious moments curio cabinet...

so now mom's yelling for breaking her collectibles and cabinet
sisters yelling because 'her' phone got disconnected
dad's yelling because his arm's all bloody and needs stitches.

what was fun was the old first/second gen cordless home phones. turn one on and drive around the neighborhood...

I don't remember them being $.05 but I did love those chest machines. The country store near my Grandparent's farm had one of those, and you always had about a 50/50 chance of pulling one out that would "icee up" when you opened it.

It's also pretty much impossible to get a soda as cold as they got in those glass bottles in the chest coolers these days.

My earliest memories of gas prices was when I was a kid, and I would ride my bike down to the Shell station with the gas can for the lawnmower. My dad would give me a dollar and I could fill the can, then stop at the Crown Liquors next to the Alpha Beta and get a Pepsi and a candy bar.

My first real job at 15 yo I made like $2.80/ hr making cheese steak sandwiches. When I started driving gas was like 82¢ a gallon. I bough my 1969 Chevelle for $800.

I don't remember the price either, but I do remember visiting the chest Coke machine after hours with a church key and a straw.

That is EXACTLY what I expected Humfrz to say.

Actually, I don’t. I like my phone ALMOST as it is. I only wish it could be as secure as I want.
