And manufacturer rated power figures mean even less. What it puts out at the crank can be radically different from what it puts to the ground.

Yes power to weight is far better and more relevant than just power or torque to assess performance, but even inside this metric its not perfect. As its based off a peak figure (even if its combined with a figure that isn't), it still suffers from the same bugbear as when we use ANY peak figure - it matters what the power was across the WHOLE rev range of your required application, not just the peak. No doubt the WRX would have a good chunk of near to full power for larger (if lower down) part of the revs when daily driving. On the track a little less advantageous. But anyway, the FACT that we are thereabouts to the performance of a ~265hp WRX turbo with just a NA boxer 4 pot is freaking awesome in my books. |

On the 0-60s, even magazines are wildly-inconsistent (some of them allow a few feet rollout before they start the clock, some of them will dump the clutch or abuse the car for the best possible time, etc) |

That looks great. Too bad the car doesn't actually look like that. This is like it's prettier sister.

Honestly, I like the Toyota version better than the Subaru version.

I love both models! I love the BRZ because it looks like a goofy teenager that just got his braces off and has a big shit eating grin, I smile every time I see it. As a subaru it should be a little quirky -- like the old bug eyes.
I also love the GR 86, it's simpler, minimalistic, a little meaner -- everything you need and nothing you don't. I never said anything about the picture but let's talk about that, it inspired someone to dream. Do you like crapping on other people's dreams? I don't think you do. But we get old and cranky and want things to be a certain way usually inspired by our idealized youths at some point and time . . . but here we are . . . Check my own opinion -- I don't even know what to do with that, but I'll be sure to ask my therapist at my next session when we discuss my multiple personalities. hugs and kisses Last edited by scuzzy; 05-24-2021 at 10:07 AM.
