Yeah for most of us its a two to three-hour drive, and you have to be there by around 7 AM! (If you want good parking).

In the past I've stayed at the Best Western Golden Pheasant the night before. Nothing spectacular, though I did see a newlywed couple all dressed up (suit and wedding gown) having dinner there one night haha. Guess it has one of the best restaurants in town lol.

I've stayed at Baymont Inn. Very nice n clean plus free breakfast
Heads up do not stay at Travel Lodge!! Worst experience ever! (Tried to save a couple bucks)
They had a fridge n microwave both were place at a corner unpluged with no outlet around. It was dirty n had spiders n mosquitoes everywhere.

Okay, so I have another question about logistics about the Feb. 7th get together. I, like a few others, am thinking that a hotel/motel the night before would be a good idea. But, on the day of the event I don't want to have my duffle bag in the car while going around the track. Also, I like to have my laptop with me to pull GoPro footage, Harry's Lap Timer footage, etc. Is there a place at the facility for storing things while on the track (bags, spare tire, etc.)?

Is that track timer something of yours personally? Or is it rented from the track?

generally there isn't anywhere secure to store your stuff, most people will just put their stuff on the ground (or on a tarp) adjacent to your parking spot. *typically* it's ok, I mean you see people leave all kinds of racing equipment, tires, wheels, whole tents and canopies set up etc. Generally, the road racing community is solid honest folks. But you just never know... The safest bet if you are going to bring valuables is to have someone who will be around to keep an eye on things while you are out on track. It helps to bring a friend who isn't driving, or if someone else is running in a different run group than you. There is a "clubhouse" indoor lounge at Thunderhill that a friend can hang out in (even has a tv and wifi) so they're not standing or sitting around outside all day, but no lockers or anything of that sort that I am aware of.

Maybe if someone brings a friend they will be able to watch a whole group's stuff. Not 100% sure yet, but if I do go but don't drive, I would offer to watch people's stuff for them. Just keep me stocked with cold drinks LOL. Or warm drinks if it's cold. Hopefully enough guys here know me to vouch for me that I won't steal your stuff while you are out on track.
