Best bet is to watch the Perelli World Challenge this weekend at Long Beach. The TRD supercharged FRS isn't too far from standard bolt on mod parts. Still has to utilize many OEM parts per class rules.

Super GT is entertaining and all that but the race cars are closer to F1 than street cars. Next year, it will be even moreso when Super GT runs the same rules as DTM. In 2015 there is an agreement that United Sports Cars (Rolex and ALMS merger) will run a DTM/Super GT class.

What I really enjoy is the Continental Sports Car Challenge and the Pirelli World Challenge. The cars are very close to stripped street cars and much more indicative of the street cars performance potential. I was disappointed that Scion chose to race in the Pirelli GTS class against Mustangs and Camaros instead of the Continental ST class against Mazda, BMW, Honda, VW and Nissan. It seemed like a natural fit, the car was declared eligible late last year and it should have been instantly competitive. The Scion FR-S GTS car is not competitive and has not finished a race yet.

Yup the Perelli WC is probably my favorite series. I'm also a big follower of ALMS and the WEC. I'm hoping this platform can start competing in more series.
