Really depends on the tolerances of each individual engine. PSI isn't what matters in terms of stressing the engine's parts, the HP a given psi produces does.

Usually on a turbo NA engine (lol) the rods are the first to go.
So torque would be the biggest limiting factor there.

Usually people who boost end up replacing rods/pistons eventually though, if not as they were having the snail put on.

Technically, torque would be the limiting factor on all engines, not hp as I previously stated. HP itself is a function of torque, after all.

if i'm not mistaken, often times rally cars don't run wastegates, they just let the boost spike as high as it will go, and it trails off at higher rpms due to the restricter.

as far as turbo'd n/a engines, it's alllll in the tuning (well, mostly). you could run 5psi and blow your ring lands to pieces, or you could 10psi and have a safe, reliable engine. tuning, fuel, and maintenance.

i'd think any extra weight on the front of this car will diminish other performance characteristics; if engine swap is really something of interest, I could possibly see the 2.5L h4 turbo getting stuck in there as a first choice

It's a 2ZZ-GE engine iirc.
and don't forget it's SC, that's why it's putting 260hp

Anyways, isn't Exige GT3 has more hp and performance?

Lotus Exige GT3 spec:

Engine
Toyota supplied 2ZZ-GE, 1796 cc I-4, DOHC with VVTL-i and Lotus T4e engine management system, Roots-type Eaton M62supercharger and intercooled[6]
Bore/Stroke 82.0 mm / 85.0 mm
271 bhp (202 kW; 275 PS) @ 8000 rpm[6]
190 lb·ft (258 N·m) @ 7000 rpm[6]
Compression Ratio: 11.5:1
Transmission
C64 6-speed, close ratio with uprated clutch and cover, open differential[6]
Gear ratios I/II/III : 3.116:1 / 2.050:1 / 1.481:1
IV/V/VI : 1.166:1 / 0.916:1 / 0.815:1
R/final drive : 3.250:1 / 4.529:1

I was going to Buy a used exige s next year but after seeing the FT86 concept i want to see the numbers first, if this car promises light weight & performance on a cheaper price why not. i test drove a 2005 exige s and it was good wow complain only was the brakes but thats an easy fix
