Measured the TB here. Mostly approximately, but not bad at all.

Thanks for the info. The throttle body was measured only on the outer I.D., the inner I.D. is actually smaller if you pay attention to the picture of the throttle body. I am more interested to know what is the ID of the TB as well as the intake manifold so we will know how much bigger the throttle can be bored as well as the intake manifold.

How about this..

You pay me $365 and ill rub my magic wand on the inside of your throttle body, barely taking microns off it with the promise of increased performance* and a genuine AUDM "fuddbutter performance" sticker.
It will make you all warm and fuzzy inside.

*Performance gains will vary, fuddbutter performance recommends insitallation of the fuddbutter performance exhaust tips and fake fmic.

Since nobody has done any testing on this, how about we ask Cusco to offer us more information on it. Maybe they can explain why the price is... well... so high. Right?

A stock throttle body is very expensive, especially with DBW. Correct me if I am wrong but as far as I know most JDM throttle bodies comes in a new unit with bigger bore , bigger throttle plate (some comes with small inner shaft to increase air flow) calibrated sensors and gasket. That's the reason it cost so much !

A new billet throttle body for a Jeep with plate and sensor gaskets cost $219, or for $259 you can have a complete throttle body that you just have to install your sensors on, and I think it was $350 to get a complete throttle body with sensors.

I think Cusco will price these as much as the market will bear. Since a lot of these cars are weekend drivers, or second(or third) cars, or being used as weekend racers, the owners usually have a little bit of disposable income to spend. So, you get what you can get, I guess...

I have seen similar or even better TB options for far more powerful engines that cost half of what this costs. Even with new sensors and new DBW the price should be at around $850 tops. This is even more costly than an Intake Manifold option for other cars...

The platform is still very new. Upgraded throttle bodies at a decent cost is not an option yet. How long were the srt8's out before a good throttle body was available? What about the fly by wire GM LS series? Both were on market for a while and both engines were in several different vehicles, thus more were manufactured. Give it time, it is a popular platform but still kinda limited to a point. Also has anyone noticed there map readings during full throttle pulls, are you pulling any vacuum? I definitely would not start looking at this for N/A applications at this point, and for boosted applications there would be very few and far between I think this would show much benefit at this time.

The throttle body on the 86 is huge to begin with. They're solving a problem that noone has. Probably not worth it even at a quarter of the price. There's a sucker born every minute, though.

IF I was going to do it i would look at the TODA TB well before the CUSCO one. Its cheaper and they taper the bore as well. It also mentions the stock throttle plate is 65mm and they enlarge it to 68mm.

Thanks.
