Well, gang, I’m back home –

I arrived at the hospital at 0530 on Wednesday. The surgery started at 0730 and went on for a bit over 4 hours (2 hours longer than anticipated). The surgeon ran into more of a mess than the MRI indicated.

The surgery was a success, but it left me in a bunch of pain. I’m talking about “passing a kidney stone” degree of pain, that I’m still dealing with.

Since the surgery was more complex than anticipated, the recovery time is now estimated to be from 4 to 6 weeks. UGH!

The nursing staff did an excellent job, considering I’m a pain in the ass patient. I tried to tell them that if they would just give me a morphine pump, I’d be a happy camper, but they wouldn’t do that – damn!

I’m still packing (hooked up to) a suction drain, that I have to empty every 4 hours.

The granddaughters are off school for winter break, so they are all over here waiting on me.

Thank you all for your well wishes. I appreciate that.

Didn't miss it. I pictured it and now will wake up screaming in the middle of the night for weeks.

I never said it was excessive just greedy. I check my driveway every day and still no Porsche has shown up.
