This is a quick mod. Not the full one I plan on doing. Going to test now.

Good news: I got more pulls in and also noticed that as long as I was moving the system never engaged the thermal sensor.

Bad news: after 5-6 pulls on the freeway and after two really aggressive long pulls on the street... When I came to a stop the thermal sensor kicked on.

Will run more tests but I think it's helping.

26.x thermal trip is there to reduce charge voltage to prevent gassing.
The dump pack will be in it's HCA range so boost will be only slightly less @ a lower charge V (log boost when you hit 26.x) .... continue to push the system until boost is shut down. 26.x does not mean the fun is over

The duct looks promising!

What does gassing mean? As in to make sure the batteries don't overheat?

i think when I run the scoop up front it will help significantly. I really want to thank @nlowell for telling me about this and helping me get this moving forward. Also when I met up with Jeff today, he told me about making the side vents into functional vents. After reading about it I think this is something else we should look into. I'll let you know when I see anything that is inexpensive and functional.

You have created a product that no one really can touch as far as price, ease of installation and value. For me I have already driven a OFT STG 2 E85 Tune with an aftermarket Borla UEL header. Having already experienced this setup, it left me a bit underwhelmed. Now someone who is looking for a good shot of low end power who has a stock car, Phantom ESC, OFT, and your choice of axleback would really offer a great combo. For my goals I can see this product will not meet them. I want more power than what this kit will offer even after improvements have been made. Another issue is this setup in its current form is not useable at the track. I hope Rob continues to develop the product and refine it. I will still pop my head into this thread from time to time and check its progress.
Great to see more people getting Phantom ESC rides, and using Vishnu OFT stuffs. Yes, the Vishnu STG 2 E85 tune with UEL absolutely rocks. Keep in mind Shiv's e85 tune for the Phantom ESC is right around the corner (end May, early June). Check back then for dynos, my prediction with your mods + Phantom ESC + e85 will be ballpark ~235WHP/270BHP and ~210WTQ/235CTQ. This is right at the edge of what the stock clutch can handle. At that point it will still be a "street" system, but as the owner base grows so will those working towards making trackable.

Good points I keep forgetting that we are getting closer and closer to the limits of the stock clutch

I would assume this still beats uel e85 setup via butt dyno, yes? I got OFT and have an ofh on the way. Was looking to go turbo but seems that the only turbo with good heat management is Ptuning. Price is a factor plus if I have to take off for warranty stuff.....
looks like super charge may be the way to go for me but maybe might start slipping stock clutch. I am I'm also concerned about gas mileage . I don't like the idea of always having the supercharger going
This seems like a good option for stock clutch and MPG/ease of removal. I live in a very hot climate so heat concerns would definitely affect me in daily city traffic.

Yes it would beat it by butt dyno and real dyno. No NA dynos have came close to 200wtq or even 180. E85 and full exhaust can net you a similar top end as the base phantom system but it doesn't get anywhere close until about 6500 rpm.

This system gets serious low and midrange gains with a nice bump on the top too.

This thing needs a larger heatsink if that's an issue! Heatpipes etc..

Should just go straight to liquid cooling.

Is there anybody with the Phantom ESC in South Western Ontario or the GTA that would be willing to demonstrate it for an interested BRZ owner? My BRZ replaced a '11 WRX. I got the BRZ for the steering feel and handling but immediately missed the WRX's torque. I figure 40% more torque would give the BRZ approximately the same torque to loaded weight ratio as the WRX and that is just about what the ESC seems to do on 91 octane.

Thanks!
