Haven't driven much Porsche (or Ferrari) yet in 7. But I still have PTSD from driving the '81 911 Turbo (don't remember what "tuning" was done) on the Nordschleife in GT Sport...it took so much concentration for me to even get a single clean lap.

The Ferrari one, though.
I just got lucky on the first Porsche race in Nurburing in the rain or whatever I think. It was like one (or two) run(s) and I was all over the place but I never hit the wall or spun out completely and finished good enough to get the car. I did have extreme intermediate tires on though too which probably helped immensely. The other two were a bit more of a struggle. I feel like one of the tracks you could just go straight instead of doing the chicane and it didn't reset you. It's total BS I know, but if the A.I. spun me out I was like oh you can cheat well then I'm cheating to catch back up... so instead of restarting I just took back my couple of seconds. That probably cut down on the number of attempts by quite a bit. Otherwise if I know I'm not likely to finish 3rd or better I just restart unless I need to learn the course.

Did the Manufacturers Cup last night, around the 'Ring.

Qualified 3rd out of 15 (not too shabby if I do say so). On the first lap I tapped P2 on the second turn (left hand hairpin). Was accidental but I got by him. He got next to me 6 turns later and I gave him space. Still side by side on T7 and I kept giving him space (though I could have declined to). He pushed me into the sand runoff on the left and I dropped to 7th

Despite a few unforced errors for rest of the race I got back as high as 3rd but ended up 5th. Still a lot of fun

You can hear the same chime on the FD. It's a warning to shift up. The cars came from the factory like that since the engine revs so smoothly they wanted people to be aware.

From what I can tell they are WAY TOO TWITCHY. It's not real. I haven't thrashed GT3s on track in real life but I have driven a 996 pretty hard and isn't remotely like 911s in the game, lol.

The GT3 does have 4-wheel steering.. I drove one at Speedvegas. The game is too twitchy on the analog sticks. I was constantly oversteering on the regular controller. Then I bought a Logitech G29 and now I understeer... problem solved?

The 997 doesn't and that's where my complaints are focused, haha. The 964 RS I've only driven so far in a license test (I think?) and that was pretty twitchy as well. And the older you get, the more the twitchiness is warranted.

I, too, use a G29.

Or the force-feedback I noticed the force-feedback was making me do unintended things when I had it turned up high unless I was like clenching the wheel.

I'm also using a G29 and was on GT6 & GT Sport as well. I had a lot of trouble trying to dial in decent settings on Assetto Corsa & Project Cars 2 to the point I've barely played them.

The Gran Turismo games seem to have decent default settings comparatively speaking, and I haven't touched the settings in GT7, though maybe I should.

Edit sidenote: just a note to say that I think the wheel on the G29 is a little too smooth of a texture, and that I find I hold it very tight to feel like I have a decent grip. Due to this I wound up buying gloves, even though I consider myself extremely amateur and not really a "sim-racer". I wound up buying Aegend mountain biking gloves on Amazon for about $10, and they've been working great so far (I bought them a week or 2 before GT7 came out). Just in case anyone else has had the same experience with the wheel!

Finished the menu books early this week and started them on a 2nd account(my wifes). I seem to get through them much easier now. I`m up to having sport open plus I got the $Mil credits
Been doing daily B races with a 1.40.xxxQ and 1.40.xxx race laps. It has been good enough for podiums even with 1.38 qualifiers. Really fun and addictive on the Dragon Trail. I hope it doesn`t affect this Sundays Track Day.

During my daily grind, I went back to the ol' High Speed Ring. Usually I use a stock group 4 GR Supra, but decided to use a detuned 86 GR.4. Well it was a great race that I lost by 0.003 seconds!

My wife testing out the setup. She didn’t Mind it… except when oversteer, wheel try to autocorrect itself & make it worse. I’m trying not to do that, but not sure how to turn it off. In the game, I have it off & still do it.

Yeah that force-feedback can give you tank slap if it's turned up too much. Another thing I noticed helps ALOT is to turn the music down like half and give tire-screeching like a +1.0 so you know not to jab the gas hard too soon out of the turns.
