there is no replacement for good pads, SS lines, and fluids.
Dude, YOU were the one that commented on how much nicer it was to have Brembos... You're agreeing with the guy that says that Brembos don't matter for this car. STI seems to think otherwise. All I'm saying is that they DO make a difference, even if some think it's negligible. If given a choice to have floating calipers or Brembos, which would you pick?

Well yeah, obviously. Still, the fact that you only have front Brembos means you're not concerned with just looks. You see that they're effective in some way.

Stock to stock, I much prefer OEM brakes on a BRZ. You have to be really standing on a brake pedal to slow down the STI. And that's with properly breaking in the pads. I hear pad changes/cylinder braces/ss lines etc don't do much to change the bite progression in an STI.

Of course people would pick fixed calipers over floating every time if it's even money. However, in this instance STI is trying to price rape people. To me getting Brembos from the factory is worth it for at most a $750-1000 upcharge. A few thousand is insane.

And before anyone tells me that only paying $100 more for Brembos is ridiculous allow me to show you exhibit A, the Mustang GT. For $1700 (Brake package) you get 14" rotors with Brembo calipers and 19" wheels. Or for $800 more (Track pack) you can add to that a Boss 302 upsized radiator, Torsen LSD (not sure what type is standard) a different final drive and different ESC tuning.

Summary being, that STI is price raping anyone that buys these 2 new models.

I agree they do price gouge, but Brembo themselves are to blame for that, in my opinion.

I agree with all points made. I just think it's weird when people act like Brembos AREN'T an upgrade in any way. I just think the benefits are negligible. And most street cars don't come with "good" Brembos anyways.

E92 M3 uses a single piston sliding caliper. jussayin. People always ask me about my STI brakes and how they much stop so much better, and I remind them that pad choice is what really determines the feel on the street.

Call it an offhand comment.
Because in racing it dominated its engine class. Oh and yeah it's unreliable so they banned it from the 24 hr Le Mans. Sucks to be so unreliable.

Why would they ban an engine because it is unreliable in an endurance race?
