DI seals failure has happened on completely stock cars and also on modded cars with stock ECU.

I wish that SC would be a LOT louder and sooner.

..

You describe exactly what the Toyota engineers do in the paper attached to the sticky on the engine forum http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3172:

4.4 FINAL INJECTION STRATEGY ADOPTED FOR
PRODUCTION VEHICLES
The final strategy of D-4S system for introduction to
production now will be discussed. Simultaneous injection
is utilized to optimize combustion at lower engine
speeds. The mixture formation using 100% DI at higher
engine speeds is sufficiently homogeneous and
combustion efficiency is at a level comparable to
simultaneous injection due to the piston speeds. For this
reason simultaneous injection is not required at higher
engine speeds. Another consideration when
simultaneous injection is utilized at higher engine
speeds, the injector-tip temperature of the DI injector
becomes too high promoting injector deposits and
degrading the durability of the injector. According to the
research [9], a DI injector has issues when the injectortip
temperature reaches approximately 150°C. For this
reason utilization of simultaneous injection is limited.
Figure 16 shows the DI ratio of the utilization area for
simultaneous injection.

yup. I went with the Borla UEL. Some people had issues with theirs, I haven't. Just lucky, I guess.

I put a log of mine in virtual dyno and it reads 218whp/169 tq. I believe Moto-East hit a lot higher torque though on 93.

I will match it up to a data log from NA of mine with the same mods other than the s/c (just an ARK catback exhaust). I'm adding a front pipe and header hopefully within the week

Yes, back in my shop days I dealt with a lot of "bigger is better" talk on the injector front. If you have enough injector for 80-85% duty cycle you are good to go. If you are not approaching this, you have more then enough injector. As has been well established, if you are going to be hitting around 250whp, or a bit more, Look in to doing a pump upgrade. Your stock injectors on the other hand will be just getting in to their sweet spot.

Is anyone running a catch can? I have a guy local who can't use his. I'm guessing it would sit between the line coming from the crankcase and the intake?

So what is everyones gas mileage like so far? I am averaging around 20 and I am treating the gas peddle like its made out of glass. I think my tune is still pretty rich. I am sure it will continue to improve with I get my next update from @FA20Club.com .

my mileage went down from what it was. I don't think that i'd be able to get close to the 400+ on a tank on all highway like I did when I drove up north. I'm thinking *MAYBE* I could get 200 miles around town.
