A video showing the difference between with and without the silencer would be nice, especially on the 60R, since that's the one most people are worried about being too loud.

Thanks for starting this thread. This is the first time I have heard the Type 80 on a stock system. Please post a video of the Type 80 with the silencer in place. I'm just curious to know how it will sound and will it reduce drone.

Also, which front pipe would you recommend that I use with the Type 80 that would reduce the drone and loudness?

Really? Speedfactorys been making seperate threads for a lot of products. They are doing a REVIEW. Not just contributing information. People like reviews of products. No one wants to scroll through 10+ pages of a thread to get information and opinions of people who actually own the product.

Why dont you go tell so many other people who have made reviews to do the same thing? You basically are knocking on them for making a separate thread to review a new product.

And most of the time Speedfactory does dyno's and sound clips of the products they review. Its nice to have a seperate thread for people who review products. Especially when they do a detailed review like this.

+1 to a video with silencers added. I am very interested in the type 80 even though I wont be going FI. I just like how it looks compared to the other models. Only thing I am worried about is it being too loud

Well I can tell you right now we did not do silencers on them. The stock BRZ we had is no longer stock due to it being a customer car and needing to go out the door on Monday. He was kind enough to let us use the car to make the videos. As he is getting a Tomei system anyway in his full build.

What I can tell you is we will do the silencers on the other two cars and combos we are doing as that is when they will be needed with aftermarket headers and etc. The 60R and 60S on a stock car do not need silencers. The 60R sounds friggen amazing on a stock car. The 60S is about the same just more muffled. My rambling will explain this in one of the videos.

The 80 will need the silencer for extended use on the street for someone old like me. To much drone in the Type 80.

Videos failed uploading last night. Started again this morning, got a couple up. We'll start marking them Public on our Youtube channel as we get them up in the order we want.

The 60R has no drone on a stock car. It's my favorite. A little loud maybe for a daily but liveable. The 60S is best compromise. But that 60R sound is so damn good!

exactly what i'm thinking especially if i get a nameless header and over/frontpipe (HFC) combo with helmholtz resonator. the sound is what i'm after more than anything.
