Shouldn't affect mpg at all since it's only diverting sound to the cabin. Love this little mod btw.

Just did it and got the app read it as 2 dB louder at 5000 rpms. Haven't taken it for a drive yet so I can't speak to that and I'm not sure about how accurate the app is, but there seemed to be a difference to me.

Did it. Sounds nice. Can hear the tap tap tap from my engine more though at idle :|

I hear more tapping at idle too but that's because you hear more engine noise. I like it. FYI the soundtube just pops out from the rubber hose, moving it back and forth helped me. And also, there is foam inside along with a cross section of plastic, and 2 small foam pieces (on the sides). I removed all foam with a drill-bit and left the plastic cross section. I would recommend leaving the side foam pieces for others, they're small and could maybe reduce the idle tapping? who knows...

I did this mod yesterday and I would describe the sound difference as maybe slightly louder but more mechanical. I like it. Reminds me of some of the older (60's & older) sports cars. The side foam came out with a touch of the drill bit and the foam piece down on the plastic cross section just pulled out with needle nose pliers. I saved this foam plug in case I wanted to put it back, but I don't think so.

I have that same sound. Although to me, it sounds more like a old GM horn, very lightly.

Usually only in 2nd or 3rd shifting.

Anyways, I have full perrin intake and i've capped that tube, so I doubt it has anything to do with that.

I did this mod a while ago, It definitely changes the sound a bit, but after adding my Invidia N1 I can't even hear the sound tube. All the sound is behind me. No complaints.

No I just checked it has nothing in it, its just a regular plastic elbow.
