Haha, this really struck a chord with me. My stepfather put a Saleen kit and altezza tails on a 2000 Mustang V6 auto, thought it was the shit. I'm like dude, way to be the biggest poser ON EARTH!

I thing their kit is entirely over priced for what it is. Sure is nice but there are others of the same quality for 1/3 of the price. Paying for their name basically.

Correction: paying for their design.

As an Authorized Distributor for Rocket Bunny TraKyoto for the U.S, and one of the reasons for why this kit is more expensive then what most people are used to is due to the manufacturing process.
However I have to agree with most that $6,000 for add-on lip kit with over fenders is a bit steep.
Each piece is hand made in Japan by only couple of engineers, and because of this, the cost to make one kit is fairly high.
Fitment on the kits are very good, and quality is very good.

Let's hope that Greddy drops the prices on these kits.

So the point here is to get low and slow... while looking fast? I don't know but I wouldn't want to be caught driving a car that looks like it just drove off the race track, only to get stuck on speed bumps and scrape the heck out of my "expensive" kit.

If you cant afford the real one, dont blow your money on a replica and just save up for the real deal.

Why get a replica? Why not ask what alternatives are there to the rocket bunny that llok similar but are not crap copies. You say the real one is overpriced but you still want it? Why, because of the amazing design.

Find another kit or pay to play.

I don't think you read the thread.

That's what OP was saying.

Nothing totally original on their kit. There are other similar kits. Personally I wouldn't pay that much for their "design" It's a decent wide body, not cutting edge engineering.

This is pathetic... Don't get me wrong I'm running a Vis hood/trunk with my kit after SEMA but the design is actually originally (besides the point)

So you are to cheap to spend 6,402 on the kit and wing... Awesome that's just the intro expense...

Now you have to cut into the rear quarter panels... The front fenders and fit over 12 pieces to the body plus a rather large wing.. Oh and then paint the stuff!!!! Wanna hear something funny about my
Rocket bunny kit? I didn't have to modify the kit at all... Just prep for
Paint and spray. That's what you get when you run a properly engineered kit... Average body shop would charge at least 2,000 in paint and labor
For kit if it had fitment issues... Most likely more.

Wheels ok here is another obstacle... +45mm front and +60mm rear fenders and 5x100 point in the direction of custom wheels and new tires... There is another 3-4000 more.

Oh and a good suspension... That's like 1500-2000.

So rough cost list

6,402
2000
4000
2000

That's over 14,000 and you want a replica kit? What are you going to run? Some xxr wheels And spacers? Sorry but this makes me heated... You just don't know
Off brands like rocket bunny, Ben sopra or rwb... These brands are prestigious and iconic and not meant for every cheap bastard to afford.

Hate me all you want and call me a biased prick for owning the kit but this thread pissed me off.

That is very very true! I mean no one is saying that you shopuld buy a replica/fake/knock off body kit that will cost you more to fit on the long run than getting the original. However, if another company will come up with a much cheaper price for their body kit that is very similar to Rocket Bunny in this instance and have the same quality fitment, what is going to happen? Think about it all! You would be crazy to pay say 7k when you can get the same product for 3k. At that point greedy will lower their price becasue they would lose market share. Supply and demand! Competition will force the maker to rethink their expenses, their business model, marketing strategy, etc. Furthermore, with time (and it wont be too long) until the price for this kit will drop to meet the market potential. People pay the amount of money they think is worth. R&D, originality etc. but at the end of the day if it costs them ONLY $200 to make (just for the sake of the arguement) and they charge 7k for it...well that is a bit of a rip off. I dont really care about their expenses really (only two guys working on them, marketing, etc) sooner or later another tuner with more capacity and LESS OVERHEADS (or shall I say more efficient business strategy) will either make something similar (and given the popularity of the wide body kits, it wont be too long) or make something even better looking (maybe one that will go all the way down the fender rather than stop just below the bumber line for instance) at a much much cheaper price. Then what? Will you still buy the kit for 6k? I dont think so? LIke the GFC. many companies had to rethink their strategy to keep them in the game, lower their price and still make profit. So they become more effective. If you can provide a product/service at a better price why overcharge for it?
Please dont kill me when I say that I DONT support the replicas, however I support a better price policy. Maybe the guy OP thinks is too much to pay for a body kit without realising the other costs included in the fittment of it (fender cut, wider wheels, etc) Maybe you are aware, maybe not, but you are paying a lot for R&D, (which I reckon had been paid off already as it is not like the kit is keep evolving and changing, so it will pay off if it is not already), marketing, brand name, promotion, etc.
Nevertheless they are awesome body kits and I would get it if I would have extra 10k to go into the car. At the moment I wouldnt spend extra 10k on the car. And that is not because I am cheap, or I dont have it...but my hard earned goes into someone elses pockets quickly recovering their initial expenses before another big player enters the market with a cheaper price. I bet 90% of the people who think this is worth that much money can't afford it either yet they wouldn't blink to get the same quality at a cheaper price.
Also, if any company dies because they couldnt keep up with the market mechanics, so be it, others will take their place. It happened before.

My .02 cents!
