So, originally I was told i was getting the 2014 model back when i ordered in February. After being told it would be here at the start of June originally, it was pushed back to late June, then again to possibly the start of July.
I emailed my salesman this arvo to find out if he had anymore info, he said: "there has been an update on the model I'm sure you are getting the update but it has slightly delayed the date" He's calling me in the morning to talk about it. So hopefully in that being said, i'm hoping it comes early July. EDIT: Salesman told me Toyota are wholesaling the cars. They are sitting at Kewdale, Perth (in my case) waiting for the release date which is the 7th of July. 5-10 days after release date until they hit the dealership... Well luckily my dealer is claiming ignorance. Doesn't know arrival date. Says there probably not even manufactured yet. Granted this is coming from a Canadian dealer. Plus I'm talking about the RS1.0

Took a BRZ for a spin on the weekend and the dealer advised a 3 week eta as the ship just came in. I'd assume the same to be true for Toyota cars?

Have they fixed the problem in the 2015 model with the gear box issues? 2nd gear won't go in when cold and gear grindings etc.

Its fine after about 10 minutes though...makes the commute a bit tricky tho, you look so stupid coasting up to corners fiddling with your gear box... Mines having its first check over this Saturday, will definitely be brining it up then. |

Let me know what they say about this issue, I don't think it's acceptable for a brand new car to have this issue. They have had over 3 years to fix it. That is the only thing stopping me from buying the car. It would drive me crazy.

Well mentioned it at the check over, they said for them to fully check it over i could organise to leave it overnight so they could try it in the cold to diagnose the issue in the morning. Check over itself went fine and its just amazing being able to use all the revs now! gearbox didn't do anything to me this morning but the ambient temp was a bit warmer today...ill keep an eye on it, he mentioned it is a sporty gearbox and being so new everything might still be a little tight so we will wait and see, service guy is aware that i raised the issue though at least.

Well now that ive been able to take it up to the redline and give it a go it seems better. Get a bit of a smell over 4k revs sometimes now tho...which is a concern but thats getting better too, assume its to do with wearing the engine at different revs affecting different things.
Gearbox is better when cold now, seems to operate better quicker than it used to. ill see what things are like at 2,000 ks (1600 at the moment) and as i said its friggen awesome once warm...will wait and see, autocross come and try day at the local track this weekend. gonna pop down see if i can find anyone else with one to compare. |
