whatever happened to yamaha anyways i havnt heard boo out of toyota about yamaha working on this engine since the FT-86 MkI's debut, and with the sound of the engine it's already said that the engine isn't revving as high as yamaha aided engine's have previously.
I had always thought Yamaha help build many of Toyota's engines. I maybe misinformed.

um... stiff is generally a good thing in a sports car. Without crossing that fine line into so stiff that the ride becomes terrible and the car threatens to careen into a tree at the slightest bump in the road.

No, you aren't. Toyota and Yamaha's latest team-ups include the LFA and IS-F engines.

I think you misread what he was trying to say.

When the ft86 was announced there was a lot of talk about Yamaha being involved and now Yamaha is never mentioned. Basically he was wondering whats up with that because the ft86 engine doesn't appear to be highrevving like what Yamaha is usually doing...so the consensus was that maybe Yamaha got phased out

I'm somewhat partial to stiff suspension in SUVs too. I love borrowing my wife's Xterra.

Idk I have a feeling that the engine their using now is the base fb20 and Yamaha is still busy working their magic. This would also explain why we don't have any hp figures yet. The only thing about them testing the handling and perfecting the suspension without the new engine is the weight difference of the beefed up/added engine components.

yes that is what i was trying to say but also we have to remember this isnt a toyota engine, subaru has developed this engine, and yamaha was supposed to work their magic to make it fit the feel of the car.

that is why i was asking

this is what i am hoping is happening i love the feel of high revving engines and that was one of the main objectives of this car is to be, but to get the right handling they need to develop it in conjunction with the engine to truly get a more complete handling feel that is what makes not to confident in this scenario.
