In Québec the only ethanol free you can find is Shell V-power. I only use V-Power and with the weather warming up I can sense they are are closer than during the winter. Occasional chirp here and there. They are waiting in ambush. I HHHate them. Now at 8000 km.

I found this nice site to help locate Pure Gas stations IE Ethanol free

http://pure-gas.org/

Thanks for the link!!! Turns out there's 6-7 stations near me. I thought there was only one.
I'm gonna try out a couple other stations to see if the chirping stays away consistently.
Might also try some octane boosters to see what that does. This may get expensive. Lol

Ive already checked the part numbers for the HPFP on the 2015's and its the same as the latest revised pump 05176. Personally once I switched to the new pump the crickets obviously came back but mine is definitely not as loud as the previous pump. I can almost create them anytime if I high rev the car or let the tank read less than a quarter tank though. Shell 93 is what I've been using.

Sup guys,

I experience the same issue, however I read somewhere on a thread that it has to do with the fuel you are using. If it contains ethanol it will chirp, the volume and pitch of the chirp is directly effected by the amount of ethanol in the fuel. If you can find a gas station that does not use ethanol in their fuel, wait until you tank is about empty and fill up, it should stop chirping.

Alright guys decided against trying to fix it with just pure gas for right now... not saying I wont try some later if it happens again but figured while its under warranty I may as well get a free and latest release on the pump.

Reviews like the one I quoted make me want to get a new pump so inevitably when they do come back at least they will be quieter then the bait shop I have under my hood now

Appointment tomorrow at my local Yota dealer told them symptoms over the phone they said bring in for new pump. Happy the dealer was cool about it and I haven't even been there before so... at least I got that going for me

FYI - Cricket update.

I bought a 2014 BRZ about 3 weeks ago. I went to the dealer for a complimentary oil change today. While I was waiting for the doors to open at 7:00AM this morning - I was parked by myself next to a wall. I opened the window and there they were - the crickets. I raised the RPMs a tad - they were gone. Back to idle - chripchirpchirp.

I googled - bingo - lots of reports of the same problem - most pointing to the HPFP.

I told the service tech to have a listen. He initially said he thought it would be something with the exhaust. I mentioned the fuel pump - he said they had fixed that issue in the 2014s.

Anyway - after they changed the oil and listened - he came back and said - That's the fuel pump alright. We will order you a new one and get that in right away. He said it would get rid of the noise for good.

I told him I understood it wasn't a critical issue and he said - "Dude - it's a brand new BRZ - it shouldn't sound like a beater".

I couldn't agree more! I hope they really do have new pumps and that the issue goes away. I will report back after the swap.

That's what I am afraid of too. Dealer sounds confident (they always do). So, I figure I will let them have a go at it first with the newest part available. Then - take it from there.

It will seem awesome for the first tank or two, maybe a few more if you're lucky, then they come back with a vengeance as you start getting used to them not being there. Then you just get angry.

Grab a Snickers... They aren't going away.

Mine lasted 4-5 months. As soon as it started getting warmer outside they came back HORRIBLY. I did test out E0 gas and no crickets at all. But at nearly a dollar a gallon more, l'll only run that when l know l'll be around car activities.
