And then I realize I would need a 1000W+ power supply and still struggle with real time ray tracing in future titles...

I want to know real 40xx specs already!

Yep, all speculation at this point.

I’m content with my 3070 so far but a 3070ti or 3080 would be nice.

I was at MicroCenter over the weekend picking up a Tablo OTA DVR, and they had this bad boy on display. I was thinking, wow that's exactly what I need for some flight and racing simulation, until I saw this particular configuration was $9,500 or so, without any computing power! Top of the line serious rig though. MicroCenter has an online configurator where you can build your own. Haven't tried to see what a lesser config would cost. There's also some component pricing if you zoom in on part behind the monitors.

(EDIT: Apparently the forum is doing that thing where it rotates pictures.)

No, that's the emergency power cut for the wheel. The Fanatec DD1/2 are beefy motors.

Yea, it needed some cable management, but that was on the store, not the device, it had places for it.

The curved monitors really add to the feel of it. I couldn't get anyone to turn it on for me, but it was 3 4K monitors, so I'm sure it was a great view.

That's probably 2-3k in those screens right there, including the stand.

i've got 3 aoc curved monitors, i think they're 23". was something cheap, like $150/ea or something, hard to pass up. i think mine are 'only' 1920x1080, which is more than enough for me.

i highly recommend 3 monitors for gaming. extremely excessive for business/work, but awesome for all games. the FOV is usually a little messed up with older games, but it's still a much wider view, and way more immersive.

Yea, I've had that setup for years. Also find it very helpful at work (in fact I technically have four, including the 75" monitor on my wall I use for meetings and streaming weather/news).

The biggest problem with games on 3 monitors are the virtual cameras. Most games use one focal point, straight ahead. On 3 monitors I would prefer three focal points left, ahead, right so I could turn my head and the view would not be a stretched forced aspect.

Microsoft Flight Sim X (not the current version) did this some as it would allow you to open multiple windows that showed a "straight ahead" view. You could then spread them across windows. This is an old pic right after I set up my 3 monitors at home. Unfortunately some of what I'm trying to illustrate is hidden by the angle of the camera that took the picture.

Mine are 1920x1080 as well, and have what are now considered wide bezels (although I don't "see" them when plaing) I'm considering an upgrade now that 4K monitors are relatively cheap. I'm also considering replacing them with one 49" widescreen curved monitor.

The stand is part of the pro base, which is listed at @$4,900.

I've had a different experience than you with my games. My FPS and driving syms, even some of newer ones, have fixed field of view, usually 90 degrees. If you stretch it across multiple screens it either gets squished from top to bottom, you lose some of the top and bottom image or it doesn't work at all.

Yea, basically what I was describing in most games. Most games FOV is less than 90 degrees in my experience, more like 60 although most allow you to adjust it.

VR is even worse. While I enjoy it, I have no idea why they weren't designed with wraparound to give you standard POV which is about 180.
