Who the fuck knows. This guys being a prick so I just said “how fucking immature are you being? Just take the damn thing” and took my arm off because I don’t want to sit a whole fucking hour with this douche literally digging his elbow into my arm.

The thin that pisses me off even more is any of these assholes who do this could think to themselves “maybe I should politely ask about trying to share the armrest at least since this guy next to me got here first”. I’d at least try at that point.

But instead they need to be passive aggressive as fuck. Ridiculous.

Every time a fly I spend the first 5 minutes jockeying for the best compromise for the armrest. There usually is one but it can take a few minutes of elbow wrestling to find it. Couple of flights back a had this massive fat guy beside me where his belly actually hung over the arm rest. He won by default!

thanks for the laugh.

Yeah I’d say sometimes it works out that way here where they eventually stop. But most times if they’re stopping where I do then they do it the whole way. So I either have to deal with it or give it up. Today I decided just to give it up because I didn’t want to deal deal with the middle aged Austrian/German’s pettiness and immaturity.

I’ll give him an earful when we get off the train too. Let him think it’s over for now.

These are what I have. They even have the housing to replace the double dash switch with the triple.

Looks identical to the TRD ones I have from the dealer. Love them.

Yep. They even have the hook up so that the dash light will work. Looks like most of the components came from the OEM manufactures so not sure how they are so inexpensive.

Wish us well this week.

Starting in a few minutes, mrs humfrz and I will have our three granddaughters, 24 hours a day for five days, while their parents are off to New Orleans for a business/pleasure trip.

Yep, the 11 year old is starting puberty, the 9 year old is pre-puberty and the 1.75 year old is in the terrible twos ....... and undergoing potty training.

Little do they know, that they are being dropped off at Pa Pa's "boot camp".......

Damn, I seriously underestimated how much shipping would cost on some things. I ended up paying like 35 bucks out of pocket that I didn't expect.

At least I've sold a ton of stuff, so taking that hit, spread out on everything I've sold doesn't hurt too much.

You nailed the reason. Space is at a premium and adding a armrest for each seat basically eliminates at leas one seat in each row because aisles have to be a certain width, etc. It not so much it saves space but it allows one additional revenue producing location per row. Extend that over the entire airplane and you've increased pricing or eliminated profit on the flight.

Same reason why seat pitch (leg room) has shrunk over the years. Remove a half-inch of pitch and now you can add another row of seats to the plane. (example, not actual math, but that's how it works).

Why is shipping costs so much in Canada ......??

Which reminds me of a back-in-the-day story about "costs" and crossing the Canadian border.

I sent one of my technicians up to Winnipeg one fall, from California, with a relatively new IH tilt bed truck and a new IH 444 tractor, with a spray rig, to do a couple weeks worth of experimental herbicide field trials.

After a couple of weeks, he completed the trials, but fell ill. So, I told him to get on a plane and fly home and that I would fly up there and drive the truck back to California.

When I tried to cross the Canadian border, the Canadians thought that I had bought the tractor in Canada. True that tractor was built in Canada. They demanded to see a bill of sale and were going to try to charge me some sort of duty.

I tried to explain that the tractor was purchased in California. So, they ask me for its registration. I explained that tractors were not registered in the US.

After getting nowhere, I called our attorneys in NYC and ask them to straighten out the situation. After a 5 hour nap in the truck, they pounded on the window and said that I could proceed to cross the border.

THE END

True, but if they fold up couldn't there be some kind of comprimise? (aka of you want more room leave one or both up or if you want armrests leave them down)

When we fly (usually SW) we seat ourselves in the window and isle seat. It doesn't take long for the plane to start filling the middle seats. So, I start looking for a smallish person coming down the isle and ask them if they would like my isle seat ....... with one condition, that if I move over to the center seat, that I get sole possession of the armrest. They have always agreed.

Couple of issues here Hum
Canada doesn't inspect anything leaving the country. It is the country you are entering that stops you at the border not the one you are leaving.

Canada does not charge duty on anything going out. Again it is the country of entry that want's their share of the money.

Canada does not now, nor ever did register tractors either.

I suppose there could be some type of origami design that would allow it but even up they have to store somewhere, including the mechanical portion. I suppose if they made them fold into the seatback itself there could be zero space lost, but you would lose seat width, and there is barely enough as it is.
