I hate to be one of those guys, but the price does seem ridiculous considering the only thing specific to the BRZ is those angled spacers.
Kind of glad I waited this one out.

Love how everyone is so quick to judge mor on the only specific market for the brz/frs bumper reinforcement even though more than 90 percent on this thread are scared to drill holes in their bumpers to install it.
Why don't we wait for the instructions and see how it comes out, pretty sure there is not a plate for a reason.
Can't wait for this to fix the gap.

My problem isn't whether or not it will fix the gap. My problem is I was under the impression I was getting X. I said earlier that I do believe it will fix the bumper gap issue, but I'm left a little sour knowing that I paid $50US for 4 angled spacers.

Instructions or not, I don't see any way that those angled spacers WONT be floating around freely with the bumper off. They're not threaded.

it honestly looks like a universal kit. Even if this were priced at $120US, I would of had to think about ordering it.

Pretty sure you could request money back and ask for return
Just saying

You're right, I could, but if I get it back or not is another story. I haven't decided if I want to cross that bridge yet. I have a feeling that most people who pre-ordered this will have similar feelings once they receive it.

I'm going to wait for the DIY/Instructions to be released before making my decision. If theres some kind of voodoo magic involved that goes against the logical assembly of how it appears to go together, then I'll put them in.

You have to realize that I'm not on some blind witch hunt on this one. I was one of the guys preaching patience for a company that's new to the platform, but after receiving the goods, my tune has changed completely.

Have you received yours yet?

I've recently been in touch with Jeff about the situation and he provided the following response and asked me to share it with you all.

In my opinion, I'm fairly satisfied with the package and the candid response that Jeff provided.

From Jeff:
Quote:

Thanks for the heads up [redacted]. Yes we had another email from someone who was surprised there are no brackets with the kit... we have a description of kit posted on the website since it was completed and havent had time for pics and such which is what im doing today..holiday wknd finally

The truth is that we pay more to make the stainless angle spacers then we do aluminum brackets. The spacers are the key piece to making the kit work properly with ft86 and its side marker and wire loom location.. Obviously theres more work in brackets like the 08+ sti kits and they are priced accordingly 35$ more than ft86 kits retail pricing ( pricing was first thing people complained about- we had a price point to hit and we did better than it for you guys, nobody complained about that). We have a lot of resources like wire edm and waterjet to help us engineer a bracket to fit but once u get in there its not possible with the latch locations- which are critical to fit and function. We had to utilize the oe fender brackets to install the mounting pins, its a very similar issue with S2K bumpers.
If u care to forward to the forum please do
Thanks and ill be in touch asap
It sounded like Jeff was working on instructions today. Should be out soon.

Hang on a minute and wait for the instructions. I can see how this would work. I haven't received mine yet, or pulled apart my bumper since last year but...

You have 8 nuts and washers there, screw one on to each post. Poke said post through hole, spacer on back side gives it the correct alignment and then second nut on back and tighten it up. That will hold it all in place at the correct depth. I haven't had a good look inside the bumper recently to see what holes to use or if drilling is required as I've been waiting for these before doing that again... But actually if there are four oe holes existing it's quite a good solution not requiring a bracket.

What I am a little annoyed at is the lack of template for drilling the bumper holes. However I'm prepared to wait out the instructions and see how clear they are with where to drill those. Also I am a little concerned that the only car we've seen them on is a BRZ and the bumpers are different between the cars. So slightly concerned they may only be a match for the BRZ bumper.

Where would we have received them at, email, pm on here, or somewhere else? Just checked their site and didn't see them there either?

Am I missing something?

I can work with that. Seems straight forward enough to me to work out where the holes go and get everything lined up properly.
