But with a standard key there is Off, Acc, On, and Start. To roll start you just put the key to On and put it in gear, even if the battery is dead.

With push button start, how do you put the car to On? Is there a key twist as well? Is the car just always in On?

On the current IS, you have to push down on the brake pedal in order to turn the engine on. Pressing the push start w/out your foot on the pedal is just like a key in the "On" position. So the push start bypasses the Acc and it's not the big of a deal.

From what I remember with the sticky pedal situations, if you push and hold down the push start, it'll kill the engine.

this^

Usually with push starts you push once and it turns the car on, and you push and hold to start. Honestly I wish there was a traditional key turns the car on, and then a momentary push to start the car.

On my current car, its a traditional key, but instead of holding the key and cranking the engine, you just blip the key and the computer cranks the engine till it starts. I LOVE this ignition system since it kinda combines the regular key and the push button, minus the button lol.
