Shiv, so the esc maps are going ots style as well? Haven't utilized the database system yet. I'm assuming its straight forward.

Absolutely. They will need to be provided by an ecutek dealer.

The maps will first be released in .dev format. Once we see enough data logs from users showing expected performance, they will be released in a new .bin format which is still completely editable/viewable. But it will rely on the compression stage in OpenFlash Manager to create a complete ROM image.

Ahh gotcha. If you don't mind me asking I'm assuming you have added some tuning to the maps you had created when I went up to San Francisco. Any significant improvements?

Absolutely. The new maps are completely different. Your maps were based on v1.3ish map release. New maps are based on v1.5 map release. When I come down to SD, we can compare them on the dyno, on your car. I'll also bring down the TQ300 for testing too

If there is a noticeable bump in power through the range then I'm all in, If it is reserved only to ~5-10 hp/tq between 6k and 7.5k rpm, I'll have to pass. I spend very little time at that range.
Which is why I'm waiting to see results before buying all three. If there is not a gain or only a very minima gain then I might just get the OFT and ESC or OFH and OFT.

Full throttle Electric Supercharger Build Thread

Let me know when and where the SD action will be and I'm there! Maybe I can even talk Rob into selling me an ESC and I can join in!

What are the differences between this & a traditional centrifugal super charger? That is, not the dyno numbers (understood that this doesnt try to be a full blown sc) but what it's like when doing something like Canyon carving where one isn't at WOT all the time & the tach moves through much of the Rev range & where one needs linear power right after the apex, etc.

I know this doesn't come on till approx 80% throttle, so I'm wondering if that leaves one feeling "unboosted" in cert situations (a traditional sc is blowing all the time).

I'm just trying to get a clearer picture of what an ESC does in the system.

The main difference between this and a centrifugal supercharger is this has more low to mid gains with less top end gains.

Now depending on the fuel you use your top end gains might not be that far off.... Right now with e85 we are making 220+HP. The big difference is your 2000 to 5000 rpm gains when you go with the ecs. If you look at most centi dynos they cross over our HP at about 5000 rpm but the time they are significantly above is from 6500 to 7500.

You will find that when canyon carving you tend to sit in the 4000 to 6000 rpm range a lot.... This is where the ecs actually does really well... Especially for the price of the unit.

Now the place where the centri has a clear advantage is the road course with many long straights..... The time you spend between 6500 and 7500 is much greater.

The phantom supercharger is really tailored to daily driving and solid passing power when demanded.

Now as far as when the unit engages.... Yes it comes on at 80 percent throttle however that doesnt always leave you feel being under boosted. Remember it is essentially NA until you desire otherwise.

With the esc you maintain the corner speed using na and on exit go full throttle and engage the esc again.

Hope this helps... Thanks for the questions.

I don't want to say until Rob is a vendor but you can contact him through the phantom supercharger website and he will tell you.

I will announce once approved.

It's good
