I don't know what you were expecting in bringing it up again, bro. There are about 5 different threads where we have heard this time, and time, and time again--"Maybe this time is the time they fix it."

Long story short--its not getting a fix other than replacing your fuel pump again...and again...and again. Toyobaru has shown that they are willing to swallow the replacement costs instead of finding a solution.

Finally got my car back after 3 weeks these are the parts they replaced. sorry for the sideways picture. Crickets are gone for but I'm sure they will make a comeback.

Here's a Fixed right side up picture, as a pro tip for forums and reddit and stuff use imgur, it's way easier and generally better for hosting photos:

And what you described normally happens, it'll be fine no crickets on the new pump and then it'll simply return after the fuel runs it's course

Took my AT FR-S to the shop to get the idle hunt and crickets fixed on thursday 12/17
After 6+ Hours of Shop time I finally got my ride back. I road tested it on the free way and tried to provoke the Hard Shifting issue. (Ex. Putting it on CC over 60mph and leaving it n D) Pleased to say it transition back and forth from M to D without Hard shifts. On top of that the crickets were exterinated.

The following morning I had to drive out to pick up a friend, started the car it gave me a check engine light along with the Solid Yellow TC light. On D mode it was hard shifting from 1st to 2nd right off the bat. After the pick up, me and my friend headed back to the dealer. I started hearing a knocking noise so I turned off the radio. When I slowly accelerated the knocking could be heard. My guess at first was the HPFP?

Took it to the dealer and they took it in and gave me a Highlander rental. I won't get my ride back until Monday. What do you guys think?

Are there any TSB's which specifically state the market is "Canada" and not "USA"? My dealership refuses to do anything with TSB's that say USA, and I'd really, really like to get the AT idle hunt/hard shifting dealt with.

My dealer is the same way. They told me some tsb are only posted in USA and not Canada, therefore they will not do them... I'd like an answer to this also

Took my AT FRS to the dealer 2 days ago with the SB 0015-21 for idle hunt. it fixed my hard shifting as well, I can finally drive it in manual mode without feeling like im destroying it. The car is finally really fun again . I have experienced two very minor rev drops since then but the car did not almost die, did not over-rev like it used to either. I can finally leave it in park if I need to.

Wha? Could it be some sort of lack of Canadian regulation that allows them to get away with that?

I think for me at least, the service manager at my dealership isn't a big fan of me, because I've been fighting with them for near on 8 months now about getting my transmission issues fixed. Now when there's a TSB out for it, they let me know it's a USA only TSB. Whatever, next oil change I'm going to vehemently demand that something get done about this. If not, I'll be demanding to speak with the GM and then the owner.

@Sigh-on-Rice

This is info and pdf on the Recall effecting 2013-2016 involving the ignition interlock, interesting enough it was a simple plug under the dash everyone can check, mine was disconnected and I noticed it in the summer not realizing what it went to

Thanks for the info, @FRSBRZGT86FAN - I read about it briefly when someone shared in a group on FB, but this makes it extra easy. Appreciate it.

@moreuseful - Can you remind me to check this when we get my car back?

To my understanding, this is a recall TSB, so you can get it done at any dealership for free even if you are out of the warranty period.

Interesting. I want to take my FRS since my driver side windows was squeezing and scratching, they said they couldn't since it wasn't under warranty.
