You won't get s2000 weight distribution unless you move engine further back. You have to change functional parts now if you want a different feeling/performance/balance. You can do tires (more), rear sway bare (more), shocks settings. (Less front compression).

It's going to be EXTREMELY difficult to appreciably reduce your polar moment of inertia a significant amount while keeping "street car" status. Not trying to tell you you're wrong, but I'm afraid you're barking up the wrong tree. There are a lot of other things to change before you have to resort to weight loss. Just lowering our car 1" sped up weight transfer 20% through chicanes. |

I remember there used to be some company that made lightweight front LCA's. Robispec I think?

I think so, never saw the price and availability. I would change coilovers before that.

Good excuse to get a roll bar. Good safety equipment if you track a lot while shifting the weight balance rearward. And attach a fire extinguisher somewhere behind the center line to shift even more weight rearward.

I understand doing your best to balance the weight of the car, makes sense to me but as others have said it will be very hard to get any seriously noticeable differences.
My question is, what are you doing with the car that makes the balance troublesome? If it's autoX then the toe will give you more turn in than you could ever want. If it's track then why not go for aero modifications? Look up Element Tuning for their balls out time trial car, lots of aero on that to balance the car and add grip. |
