One thing to consider though is tax-duties. If you are ordering four sets, there should be some extra fees that you will experience well after the order is delivered. So factor in some funny money to cover the extras. - Not from J-Parts but from the US shippers/gov't.

These are some really big boxes.
I ran the GB for these panels in Socal. The Tax/Custom was around $25 total so i'm assuming it will be the same for them as well.

FYI Fedex sent me the custom fees about 1 month after it was delivered.

Sounds about right. I got dinged pretty hard because I got the underpanels and a few STi bits at the same time.

FYI the Japanparts exchange rate calculator and the paypal rate is slightly different. iirc, it was about $10-20ish different. It also changes daily so you should collect the money on the same day or something.

If there is enough interest, I'm just going to order a set and sell them here, don't want to deal with the hassle of taking payments up front and having people nag about the slow boat from japan.

Jesus man, by how much you post here I assumed you already had your car. This mod seems pretty win - win to me. There just doesn't seem to be any downside to these panels aside from the cost which isn't that much. I'm just trying to duplicate some of the aero from the trd griffon which I think was a pretty cool engineering exercise.

Not sure? I have a house in NH, I was going to have it delivered there anyway since I don't have really have room at my pad in Boston. The shipping cost is the same to my door in NH as it would be to my door in Boston, which is weird but whatever.

I'm just going to pull the trigger and place the order tomorrow. I just need to see what else I want from japanparts... I'll keep you guys posted on the progress. I'll give you guys in the thread "dibs" when they get here. No obligation really necessary as I think Sony is right in that people will buy these once they are here anyway.

Yerp. Buy them and they will come. They make the existing under body panels look so insignificant. I didn't even keep em. After I got the JDM ones on they were trashed.

Yeah at risk of sounding like a total newb.. I have the same question. Are these for better airflow or underbody protection?

that's a lot of coin for molded sheets of plastic unless there's some solid justification in having them.

Realistically, your benefit per dollar spent is better on tires and wheels.

In theory, the panels will reduce drag coefficient to 0.27cd vs 0.28cd (if you have the wing) and better gas mileage.

There's also the benefit of protecting the undercarriage from road salt. Although, it will probably still seep in, but the amount will be reduced.

Solid justification? You mean your OCD doesn't bother you? Every time I think about not having a full set of panels it bothers me. Then I remember how much they cost and just let it bother me.

I'll admit I have some pretty serious OCD about some things..

but spending that coin for plastic panels.. that fits into my " ridiculous unless actually needed " category lol

If it was a protection thing I could definitely see that.. this is one of few cars I've owned that doesn't have much for underbelly protection.

Or if I was tracking the car at high speeds for competition purposes I could see that... but not for a street car. Not for ME anyway, but that's a personal decision. I'd rather keep my tire pressure up and keep my foot out of the happy pedal. Cheaper, has same benefit for us street users.
