Will follow your progress on this. Hopefully you can put up a DIY for this so we don't have to go to the stealership for updates

Made a RAW copy of sd that included hidden partition. Still wouldn't boot with it...
That's pretty much the extent I can go to.. |

Download testdisk and have a look at the file structure then
Something is missing, unless there is a identifier that links a number in a file to sd cards serial number At this point this is all I can think of

You would think that a brand new car with sat nav would come with up dated maps for the year it was purchased at least. Toyota should up date them on deliverly. Thats my idea of good customer service anyway.

Toyota and good customer service are mutually exclusive at the moment

Audio units are installed at the wharf when the vehicle lands in Australia, where latest map version available is installed. The unit supplier (Fujitsu Ten) updates map data annually. The 2013 version should have just started being installed in the last month or so.

In the settings menu look for a submenu called "Alerts & Sounds" or something of the sort. Go in there and enable Alerts. Unfortunately, this spams your map with other useless icons like, "High accident area" at nearly every intersection. ><

tried a heap of different programs that do sector by sector copies of the SD card (even the hidden partition etc) but nothing would work, the system would still boot but the maps would never load, i guess it's Toyota or die for new maps...

Perhaps we should just wait for someone a lot smarter than us to figure out the encryption
I would give it my best shot if I had access to a car lol But then again I probably wouldn't share the method online as I don't want to get sued
