And speaking of "backwards", when my wife drives the Boxster, there's the issue of finding the "LeMans" ignition switch... on the left.

that is KISS philosophy at work right there.

That and the digital clock with the m and h buttons.
I love that cruise. Instant response for up and down.
The clock is just funny with it’s 1992 Dollar Store look.

Theres also the gated shifter, or shifter fonts in the AT cars and a whole whack of switchgear lol.

Everyone complains about silly things like that but dammit they just work!

Doesn't matter how bright they are if they never get used.

Muscle memory doesn't allow for us to change things depending on the car we are driving that day.
Steering that changes feel depending on speed is horrible IMO.
Push a sport button and the same car feels completely different.

I drove a Fiat 124 when I was young.
The window crank rotates the opposite direction from all other cars.
You have any idea how many times I've broken the cable and had to replace it?

Fords and other cars have had this feature for a long time.

For the 1st gen, you could add this with a tap-turn module. I use it all the time for lane change

So many cars and suv's have the same type of turn signals. It's not a big deal at all.

Have you tried steering that changes ratio based on speed? Like BMW’s active steering? IF it’s well tuned it can be fantastic and feel really natural. It’s one of those things that you don’t really notice until you’re looking for it or someone points it out.

I think you're misunderstanding. The turn signal stalk in the new car has no detents. It will return to center immediately no matter how far you push it.

Let's talk about those turn signals?

You can still feel the ‘click’, past which you activate the turn signal, the stalk just returns to neutral afterwards. The ‘click’ is a decent way before the end of travel. To cancel you push the lever in either direction without going past the ‘click’. That’s what most people get wrong.

Bumping the stalk without going past the ‘click’ is also the way the 1-touch triple blink works.

I agree. Fixing problems that don’t exist. Never thought about cheapness in a turn signal. My wife’s IS300 is annoying as hell.
