Only at idle. While you're driving around there are plenty of other noises. You may hear short shifting out of a parking lot while the pistons are first getting some heat in them on extra cold days.

If you drive 5 minutes and pull into a coffee drive through in the morning you may hear it a little, but if you've driven to work and you're just letting your EGT's settle down after a nice joy ride, it likely won't be too much louder than a stock engine.

They are definitely louder, but not obtrusively so.

Thank you. What I found out is most pistons are made out of either 4032 or 2618 alloy. 2618 is a bit stronger but expands more than 4032, so to take 2618 pistons like CP the cylinders have to be bored for more clearance. So when cold, the pistons will rattle around in to big a hole so to speak, then up to operating temp. they expand to the correct clearance and quiet down.

4032 pistons do not expand like 2618 so 4032 pistons can be used is stock bore with only a hone. So they are quiet right from the git go.

So, next problem. I am shopping for 4032 pistons in the stock 12.5 compression ratio. Most piston manufactures either use only 2618 or only make low compression pistons for boosted applications. Full Blown told me Arias will custom make pistons in stock 12.5 to one compression ratio and out of 4032 alloy, And only slightly more than stocked pistons. So I now have put this on Santa's wish list.
