Not sure the benefit of AWD in this kind of car over RWD.
It's same thing why Skyline still have AWD system from R32

"Under Group A regulations, a turbocharged engine must multiply its engine displacement by 1.7, putting the new Skyline in the 4000 cc class, and requiring the use of 10-inch-wide tires. Knowing that they would be required to use 10-inch-wide tires, Nissan made the decision to make the car all wheel drive."

I guess just the fact that the R32 got the AWD due to race regulations. At that point with something so successful, they probably asked themselves why change it (R33/R34) and then GTR. However Subaru could start something new here and be successful with a RWD coupe and start off a successful line as well. That is all.

I'm not against you, I'm agreeing w you. Just saying, they should keep RWD only for 216a and keep the other lineup AWD (in US).

And I'm agreeing with you too! We are on the same page. I completely agree the 216a should be RWD and then keep everything else as it is (AWD). If you want a sporty AWD car you have the WRX or STI for fun. RWD 216a would bring something different to their lineup.

Oh boy don't tease me please. That has always been my favorite Subaru...ever. Even though it is over 10 years old, it still looks damn good and aggressive.

Who knows? Your hope might just come true some day. That Impreza 22b is Subaru's pride and joy and won't ever be forgotten. Like the AE86 being reborn, it might just happen.

Ichi I'd rather have your car than any 'reborn' 22B.

2.5RS was one of my earliest fav cars when my 'tunerhood' began.

I forget what you've done to it, but obviously, if I had a 2.5RS....well, it would be STi'd out the ass by now, from engine, all the way down to authentic JDM STi badging / body panels.

The only thing I'd rather have, subaru wise? An actual 22B.
