I'm lowered a little bit less then Ohlins says to set them up, with a slight forward rake as well. To be honest I've not had the chance to do anything even remotely sporting with them on the car, I'm on winter tires and driving on terrible potholed roads.

Seeing that it's so close in length compared to a Bilstein shock eases my concerns quite a bit, I've driven a car on those and never had an issue pushing it hard.

The rears have limited height adjustment. Completely maxing out the lowering of the rears, I did not bottomed out the Ohlins when I owned it over all the miles and tracks I drove.

Must be nice to have roads that don't suck then

I don't know about you, but plenty of freeways in the Los Angeles area suck.

Too much container/truck traffic = horrible, poorly fixed expansion joints on roads.

And some of the bridges end up being launch ramps instead of joints.

Quite soft springs at 70N/mm

Is the damper travel the same?

it is actually 7kg/mm. It is soft but is enough. The damper takes care of alot of it.

And yes, Damper travel is the same. The Bilstein shafts were just shortened to prevent it from hitting the LCA.

Out of curiosity, do you/can you tweak the DFV at all? I don't even know where I'd begin with that, just curious if it's something that's possible.

It has shim stacks you can change to adjust damping range. Few people on here have had their MI20s revalved for > 8kg/mm springs.

The DFV is the same in all the road and track kits, just shimmed differently to suit the application.

Also 70N/mm is 7.14kg/mm i'll get my coat.....

Sure people have revalved the main valve. I've not heard of anyone tweaking the behavior of the DFV itself though. DFV shown in orange here, main valve in light gray above it:

It appears as though the DFV is going to be directly affected by the main valve and vice versa, but the drawing is not overly clear in that regard.

Isnt it the shaft jet path bleed that gets adjusted?

Its low speed damping that you want to be critically damped so you have to increase it with spring rate?

When you turn the knobs you're adjusting the bleed. When someone revalves a shock they change the shim stack on the main valve. In this case FRSport changed the shaft to allow directional adjustment of the bleed (rebound/comp) as well as a revalve of the main valve.

I'm just curious if they've made adjustments to the behavior of the DFV to change the response over harsh bumps.

Here's a curveball,

We have actually removed the DFV system completely.

The valving now compensates to the missing DFV system and makes the ride extremely comfortable.

I took a ride in the customer's car, and Man oh man, it sure is amazing.

I have valved bilsteins on my miata (non adjustable monotube yellows) and it makes mine feel extremely stiff.
