Discussed and confirmed previously. The Toyota Star safety system in all their models includes TPMS. Not sure about USDM though.

BRZ Limited w/Michelins Primacy - Don't know about run-flat (doubt it?) but definitely has TPMS.

My car came with the Michelins but had the Bridgestone pamphlet in the package ( I think it was Bridgestone, wasn't Michelin anyways). Don't most Subarus come with Bridgestones? I just figured that was what the dealer was use to putting in the package. Anyways, now running on Bridgestone RE11.

I can't be of much help as I have an FR-S, but last I heard, the moustache mobile (j.k.) does not have TPMS in Canada. This would be the first example of a BRZ that I have seen with the Bridgestones on it. Bridgestone makes some really good tires, but the EL400 is not one of them, and definitely not a run-flat.
jsooke... How do you like the RE11s? I've been considering them for my summer tires. That or the S-04 Pole Position. Considering the miles I pile on this car, the RE11 may not last too long.

Ok,
TPMS... in Canada.. FRS = YES, BRZ = NO I checked the car in the showroom when I was buying it (the BRZ that is) at the time I thought both FRS and BRZ came with the system and as part of my deal involves replacing wheels I asked them to move the TPMS sensors to my new wheels. The salesman said huh? So we checked the car and no TPMS on BRZ in Canada.

That's odd since its practically the same car and the BRZ is suppose to have more features. In a way it's better for tuners swapping rims all the time, but still odd nonetheless.
On a side note, I never knew anyone actually read those tire booklets, lol. My BRZ came with a few different ones.... Seem just like standard things they throw in at factory to cover different areas. |
