2mm? for $1700...? You could get similar or better effects by half shafting the OEM piece and smoothing the inlet bump. Besides, I didn't measure it, but the stock unit looks fairly big for the motor. If no one else can come up with a number I'll measure mine after work.

The stock throttle is 3 inches or 76mm. I measured it when I made my intake pipe here http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...ighlight=chadz . Checking online the rx-8 tb is only 70mm. Also check Perrins blog http://blog.perrinperformance.com/2013-brz-exposed/ .

I have to say some manufacturers are raping us and trying to get back their R&D costs very fast. Even a s2000 hks exhaust is cheaper than what it is for the toyobarus. Im glad AGP stayed real with their exhaust price. But if you look at kw v3's prices for other cars they are cheaper even if the other cars are more expensive. Looks to me like they are trying to get us back on their R&D costs .

Even the Jun EVO X throttle body is cheaper at $1,300

At that price it better be made of unicorn tears and panda!!
Doesn't seem to be a mistake. Circuit MS has it listed at $1707.

Haha rediculous. It's not even blue!

If you are replacing the TB might as well go big or go home.

Gentlemen that looks exactly like the lowly 2ZR 1.8l 220300T040 Toyota throttle body. If they're honing those out 2mm they're making serious bank. Hoping that's a stock photo.

Some people will buy it just because its in an available performance part and its Cusco, a ported one with a core exchange program where we don't have to send ours in to be modified would be cool if there are gains to be had.

It's a 3" throttle body already pretty large for a 2.0l car???

I think I'll wait, I don't want to have to explain why I spent that much on throttle body when the one for my Jeep only cost $200.

It is a bit spendy at $1700 for sure, but the one upside I guess is that it wouldn't take 58 weeks like JUN has been known to.

Here is the list of the new items to hit the Cusco lineup as well

Ignition Capacitor Kit
Grounding Kit
Big Throttle Body
Steering Wheels
Shift Knob
Final Gear Ring & Pinion
Close Gear Ratio Set

I'll check on the details for the TB for you guys and see what the situation is.

A lot of times the modded OEM is usually the best quality. When it comes to Hondas most of the top tuners just use OEM.

Only thing that cost make sense is the price.

76mm stock? For 200 HP? Wow. I remember making close to 300 HP in my old 5.0L mustang with a 70mm throttle body. Marketing an even larger throttle body sounds like snake oil to me, unless your going big boost.

This throttlebody seems about as useful as a one-legged man in an ass-kicking contest.
