Those of you with difficulty shifting, check the transmission fluid level. I have seen cars (and there are threads here) that are low from the factory. Modern transmissions can be very picky with fluid level.

My S2000 does the same thing, I need to regrease the shifter which will help smooth it out but it's pretty much a cold transmission issue. Also syncros don't work as quick as you can actually shift, try holding 1-2sec more before you try to force it in gear as it could simply be trying to rev match.

The 2nd reason I used the yellow bottle... The OEM stuff isn't available in the states yet AND I wanted to change my tranny fluid sooner than later for the same reason I wanted to change my engine oil. Get the break-in oil out of there. I've stated this in a few threads now but the OEM stuff, looks, smells and feels identical to Honda Manual Transmission Lubricant.....identical. And I don't like using the Honda MTL in my transmissions, even my Honda boxes. I've been using the Yellow bottle in my S2000, my Prelude, my CRX race car and now my FRS (since it's an Aisin tranny like the s2k). |
