I was actually turning right.

Marlboro offramp - somebody has screwed up the road markings. Always been RHS lane right turn only, LHS lane left and right turn only. It's since been fixed...

Seems a common idea in SA that you subtract one lane when turning right

Looks like the same model as mine

I still get a big rush from flooring my 11 yr old Fozzie.
There's something quite special about the way a Turbo Subaru hauls ass.
sav - one day please take me for a ride in yours.

Here's a quick pull in my 2003 Foz XT (obviously not on a public road )

Nice!

Let me know when you're in Centurion. A couple of things have changed since we last spoke - she's now running a VF48 STi turbo @ 1.2 bar boost and 2010 big STi intercooler.

Have a listen here:
[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j5WNejAWIaM&list=UUnCRs07tZajKH2U8Ds5bdMQ"]XT VF48 Powerflow sound - YouTube[/ame]

She's even sounding angrier when coming on boost. This is the turbo the car should have come standard with. The stock TD04L spools quickly but runs out of puff just as quickly and at 5000-5500rpm it's all over.

The VF48 is obviously pumping a lot more air because it's bigger but this one is boosting around 0.5 bar at 3000rpm then 1.2 at 4000rpm which is maintained all the way through. This means you can keep it in gear longer without falling out of boost after changing.

It's safe tuned for 95 pump fuel so no need for octane boosters or anything. It just works and drive ability is not compromised at all, fuel cons is also the same except boost is addictive and it's guzzling like a champ at full boost.

On Sunday, at Zwartkops, there was a white Forester XT approx 2005 model which was knocking all types of kak out of a hot M3 on the wet track.
Gave me a warm and furry feeling watching it.

I went over later to have a look and a chat with the owner - mmm, far from stock.
Coilovers, Sti control arms, Sti intercooler, cool seats, harnesses, 18" wheels and serious tyres, bigger turbo, zorst, etc, etc.

I like it a lot - and I'm getting ideas.
Maybe I must turn my old XT into a track machine.
