Too much poke.
You should be looking offsets around +35 to +38 for that wheel size.

Right now I have 225/40R18 Michelin PSS's...look pretty stretched and wondering if I could/should fit something wider all around. 245/35 looks real close to stock diameter...but will it fit without issues up front?

There really doesn't seem to be much room between the 225/40's and the spring perch of the stock struts...I can fit a fingertip by my fingernail in there, but that's pretty much it. Thoughts?
On 18" wheels, the closest part to the suspension is not actually the tire, but the rim of the wheel. So you should be okay going up to a 245/35R18.

(my wheels are about 4-5mm from the strut perch and I run 255's without any rubbing, street and track)

Rear: 17 x 9.0 +35
w/245/40/17 (Lowered 1.3 inch)

Also, would a 1.5 difference staggered setup cause any trouble?
Both those wheels will easily fit, but you could also run 17x9 square all around.

With staggered, you'll end up with more understeer and have issues with rotating tires (can only flip them to the opposite side of the same axle).
Also, your proposed stagger is quite a lot. Pretty much running stock up front and wide ones in the rear.

With a square setup, you'll get much more even wear since you'll be able to swap to corners, right/left, front/back as you like.
17x9+35 (or 18x9+35) all around is probably the best wheel option for our cars.

Thank you for the heads up.
I realized wheel rotation/tire wear will be a problem but I've never thought of understeer.
Will I have to roll the fenders with a 17 x 9.0 squared even when lowered a little over an inch? Thanks in advance!

No issues with clearance at all provided the tires you choose are OEM diameter and you're not hella-dropped (2"+). Best choice for this wheel is a 245/40R17.

Exactly the tires size I had in mind! I would love to thank you, but I think I'm too new to the forums to do so.

Side note: Now I have to see if those 17x9.0 +35 will fit Brembo's BBK.

Thanks a bunch!

Will 18x8.75+20 Offset and 245 tires work on a stock suspension and ride height? I know it'll poke a bunch but I'm wondering about how bad bouncing might be also worried about it hitting the fender. Would be it be safer to just go with a smaller tire? 225 maybe? Or am I just a freaking crazy person? >

Hi guys, this is my first time EVER buying rims for ANY car that I've owned.

My car is currently on stock suspensions with TRD lowering springs,

I've ordered te37SL's on 18x9 45's, I'm planning to run at least 235/40

Square setup..

Will I have any clearance issues on these suspensions? I don't plan on going for coil-overs in the future.

Thanks

Yes, you will have clearance issues. You'll need 8-10mm spacers up front to clear the strut. I'd run a 245 wide on that rim, 245/35 is correct diameter to OEM. A 235/40 will be a bit taller.

I have 19x8.5 +45 in front on 225 35 and lowered on Eibach sport line springs with no issues.

What type of wheels are you running?
Keep in mind that you're also 6mm further away from the suspension with your setup which is why you clear (same offset but narrower wheel).

The above poster can get away with less of a spacer, but 10mm gives him some headroom for extra camber too. Typically 17x9, 18x9 sizes with a +45 offset will work on stock suspension, but as soon as you drop it you need some form of spacer unless running coilovers.

Thanks for the reply,

So lets make sure I didn't read anything wrong or misunderstood.

With my setup on stock suspensions on TRD lowering springs, I should get a 10mm spacer AND run a 245/35 tire on the 18x9 45 rims?

if not, I should get coilovers and then I can run anything to my liking such as 255?

Thanks!!!

The TRD springs are actually a mild drop, I think just over 1/2", so the amount of camber you will gain from it isn't excessive.
Do you know what your camber settings are?

I would do this.
Wait until you get the wheels and test fit them, see if they clear.
The reason I tell people to get a 10mm spacer is that it allows for more camber adjustment, especially at the knuckle (using camber bolts) where the camber change will result in clearance issues with wheels. You could be okay with a 5mm spacer or less, but as soon as you try to add camber you'll have problems unless you use camber plates.

As for the tire, you can run the 245/35R18 with no problems. The tire will not cause issues, unless you go oversize like a 265.

As mentioned, on an 18" wheel, the closest part to the suspension is not the tire, but the inside of the wheel itself.

Plus, that is the "right" size tire for a 9" wheel, 245 or 255's.
