Do we have anyone who could construct a more OEM looking unit like this:
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...t=61533&page=1 The wood, even painted, just doesn't look as stock as I'd like. |

Thats pretty cool. A different wood and the right paint would look pretty good.

The page talks about plastidip for the wood look and different types of plastics, and things like that. The objective is to complete a stock look without incurring much overhead, right? would a thin sheet metal work, or would you come across short issues with the wiring. I can probably construct things myself but I don't understand the wiring or electronics. Just stupid with electricity. |

There is no E85 at the station I called, and the lady I spoke to is under the assumption that there is no E85 in northern Arizona. I suppose I could just reflash at whatever station I need to stop at.
I need to talk to an expert on tire fitment. I'm thinking of buying some Michelin PSS's, and 18" rims. I'm leaning to 245/45/18 tires and 18x8 or 18x9 wheels. I know that's a lot of rubber, but I'm not lowering the car at all. I think it should fill the wheel well quite nicely. I used the FRS project tire calculator, and the fender gap is under 3cm. The question is offset. The options for the rim I'm looking at are shown below, for both 18x8 and 18x9. As you can see, I went with the max offset for the front (42), and minimum for the rear (35), which supposedly results in equal offset from flush. |

Personally, I would prefer aluminum, but I don't have a TIG to really make it sweet. I would probably go with 1/16 steel and vinyl wrap it or do the wood and wrap it or coat it with rubberized paint.
