So the other day I had to demonstrate to my students (I'm a TA) how to conduct a proper dissection of a rat. in the past i was always told by teachers and friends that i was borderline psychopathic because i thought it was fun to do dissections despite me saying that its because I'm fascinated by the structures inside of them. Today I believe i was one-uped because a girl who is in my tutorial sent me a video of her using what I taught to perform a vivisection on a rat she found. I emailed her back saying that what she did was essentially torture to a living animal and that I am supposed to report that type of behaviour to the prof. which could result in a variety of academic and possibly criminal punishment. She replied with "I lived in the house your family lives in."
Well guys, this may be my last post. |

On a different note, I saw a box of condoms that said "chocking hazard to minors"
WTF DO THEY THINK WE'RE ARE ALL PEDOS OR SOMETHING? Last edited by Canehda; 10-20-2014 at 12:39 AM. Reason: Punctuation for dayz |

8.25 with the Celica ECU, supposed to be good to 8.5, but there are some reliability problems at high rpm.
There was a 15k build that DDPR did and their 2ZZ made 250hp @ 9000rpm with a 10k limiter (catless though), but it didn't have any titanium bits. I think with custom titanium rods and valves + Cosworth forged pistons (you can get rid of over 30% of the reciprocating mass like this) you could have a reliable high rpm machine. One problem with the Spyder is that the stock tach doesn't go past 8000 and I can't get over how weird aftermarket tachs look on the car. Thus I'm thinking maybe just sink 2k into the head and engine management for a 7700rpm limiter with peak power at 7100 might be good enough. With a 6 speed transmission swap that would come out to 3k total vs. a bit under 5k for a 2ZZ swap. With a header, I think that setup would be making a bit over 170hp which is pretty close to a 2ZZ and plenty fast. The 1ZZ is also 10kg lighter than the 2ZZ, which is worth 2 of those horses heh. |

I think the differences between Toyota F and G designations is more than just the head. I think the rods are beefier, too. Not 100% sure if that's correct or, if it is, is still the case in the ZZ, though. Edit: how similar are the instrument clusters? Failing that you could do an AiM dash. Because racecar.

BTW I don't think the 2ZZ has a precat, it runs rich with a smog pump to heat the main cat. That's one of the main reasons it makes way more power. The headers on the 1ZZ are like 5 inches long, aka garbage. Last edited by serialk11r; 10-20-2014 at 01:43 AM. |

I'm suggesting there would still be a choking hazard even without the condoms.

Exhaust: 276° duration 10mm lift High cam profile probably has a bit more to do with it than just the header.

But a Greddy EMU or Apexi PFC are really expensive and need a wideband for tuning so maybe this is a stupid idea afterall :/ A 2ZZ with factory ECU will be more powerful with less work and you can trick it into running at a better AFR with a 200 dollar narrowband emulator. |
