My warranty will expire soon, so i want to know if the ft86speedfactory uel catted header will fit
with the entire exhaust system stock, and if will throw an CEL. I want to start with headers then move on
on the entire system (tight budget right now)

Slight update using the now catless header, I decided to run OFT Stage 2 91 oct tune to test... car feels way livelier than when I had the stage 2 93 oct tune with the cat... gotta see when I can get some time to hit the dyno to check the numbers.

Bought the catted header in January of 2013. Just found a crack on the weld before the first 02 sensor yesterday, causing P0171 and P01170 codes and my car to be in limp mode. Installing the stock manifold tomorrow and waiting to hear back from ft86. FML

Heard anything yet? Was header wrapped? Track days? Just trying to judge how worried I should be. I do think I saw another cracked one at the same spot earlier in the thread. I'm sure they'll take care of it, just seems like a hassle.

Not wrapped and never tracked, Just everyday driving. Ft86 did contact me and it's covered under warranty, they're sending the shipping label as well. Having to reinstall the stock one was the only hassle.

I have been paranoid about this happening to mine since the first case, and stick my head down there to look/listen for a leak every now and then. Safe to say for certain that a CEL code (other than P0420) will be thrown if the crack occurs?

Most likely, I guess it would depend on where the crack is. The location of the crack affected the front 02 sensors ability to read thus causing the code.

So I just paired the OFT with these headers and it feels great! Running stage 1 91oct. No negatives so far and it's been about 5k miles. The only slight thing that bothers me is a faint buzzy sounds when the engine is under load. I'm not sure if it's just the resonance of the metal plate under the headers. It's mostly heard as an echo when driving next to walls/cars on the street. Anyone else notice this noise?

that buzzing is probably the cam phasing from the OFT tune. cam phasing in our car is known to make a resonance noise when under load. somewhere there is a huge thread about it.

Just to be clear, I had the buzzing noise before the OFT, right after installing the headers. I might try driving without the plate for a day to see if that will help?

Check if Overpipe is too close to metal/frame wall on passenger side right below ecu. If you look down from right above ECU, you will see it. My OP was very close to that metal wall so after op gets heat up it expands and touched that wall causing some rattling noise. I ended up unbolt flange where op & header meets and adjusted position of op slightly. I don't know if same thing happened to you tho.

Anyone else still getting P0420 codes with the OFT Stg 1 Tune? I have cleared a few in the past 5,000 miles, beginning to wonder if I should inspect underneath the car further for cracks.

No complaints otherwise, didn't want to tweak the Stg 1 to ignore any CEL codes
