All-New 2022 Subaru BRZ Makes Global Debut
I hope so. Startup sequences are so gimmicky. Even the simple needle sweeps that pretend they’re calibrating the needle motor are so unnecessary. Not saying these look bad, the BRZ’s is fine. The 86’s is a bit too spinny for me but I easily could not look at it on a daily basis. |

I rarely notice them as I'm usually looking elsewhere during the first few seconds after start up.

It’s cool but I don’t notice my own car anymore. I shared a clip of the startup sequence on my IG and my friend ask me what my GR Supra does. I had no idea lol. My Corolla Hatch does something too (I think it says Corolla) but I can’t give you definite answer. And lastly, I’ve been selling Subarus for 6 years so I’ve started over 7,000 Subarus. Can’t describe a single startup sequence from 2015 Subarus to the current lineup i remember besides the BRZ.
But with that said, the way the GR logo transitions into the 86 Logo is pretty cool and smooth. I wouldn’t mind seeing that every day lol. I’m sure it can be turned off.

The startup sequence is pretty cool but its only cool maybe the first few times you watch it..then you dont even notice it.
It was one of the first things i was looking forward to seeing when i got my 86. My Scion iM didnt do anything special except show the scion logo in the middle display between the gauges. But then i barely even noticed it. I think it was a few days after i got the car i was like "oh yeah theres a short startup sequence I wanted to see" Dont some of the luxury makes have longer ones....that are kind of annoying long for just a startup for a car? |

Yea, I'm not bothered by it. Once I get seated and hit the starter button, then I'm fishing for the seatbelt. After that, I messing with my phone to get music or a podcast started. I'm not sure I'll ever even notice the animation.

This is why I say an instrument startup show is cheesy. It's the type of pointless display of "tech" that tacky Mainstreamers love and the Cadillac is the end result of that. I'm leaning more and more toward just buying a Ferrari 328 to match my mustache and dealing with the maintenance hassles rather than joining this modern world.

This is what brands resort to when their cars have absolutely no personality or distinguishing characteristics. This thing is like the personification of GM; utterly mediocre and bland, with some superficial gimmicks to attract customers. |

This is no longer limited to one OEM or the other though, it pretty much describes the entire EV market, and a lot of other mass markets vehicles regardless of make/model. Heck, even the new 86 is barely distinguishable from the 400Z, IMO.
