My warranty isn't ruined. Flash it back to stock if you go to the dealer.

It's just silly if you're buying these bolt ons and not pushing them to what potential they have.

They can tell if you've flashed it, can't they?

Also, Toyota denies warranties for the dumbest shit, including tuning, regardless of the whole "they have to prove the tune caused the part to fail" argument.

Can you really not understand how not getting a tune but still seeing gains would be attractive to some people?

I definitely see how it would be attractive to people and I have seen the gains without a tune. It's pretty nice, but even the vendor themselves stated the possibility of throwing CEL's with other bolt ons together. You're messing with the intake and exhaust flow of the stock tune so the risk is there of a CEL. I don't know many people that just buy a header and say, "I'm done with mods!"

The dealer won't have any clue about a flash unless they really deep dive and do an analysis on the ECU. You're giving them too much credit. They're actually pretty dumb hence the reason I tend to avoid them as much as possible. Having the Ecutek stock flash is handy for dealer trips. The too rich and too lean codes are probably the most common ones thrown in this situation depending on header/intake combo.

I thought about this earlier this morning. I can definitely do that, maybe even during lunch.

"The entire point of an aftermarket header is to increase flow of exhaust which allows more timing to be had."

In the post you quoted, did you read anywhere that contradicted that statement?

What I did say was: ..... had to get a tune to remove the torque dip.

Other than the ft86sf header, there are no headers that remove the torque dip w/o a tune. Thus the ft86 header provides more useable power w/o a tune than any other header. (I'm just gonna bold that part because people will selectively read and then post stuff like "XXXX header has larger gains on THIS dyno graph")

You don't need a tune to remove the torque dip with the ft86 speed factory header. Its the only thing you can gleen from my post, but you gotta be cap'n save a hoe and take some creative liberties.

edit: Ah, you're from Round Rock, that explains everything.

Edit, edit: More stuff. Why would people buy a header and not tune it?.... Costs is your answer. How much does it cost for a dyno tune? What about program, cable and liscence?... This is where you chime in with "OFT YO!" and all kinds of "Buy this off the shelf tune!"

That entire logic is asinine. You asked why someone would buy an aftermarket header and then not tune it?

I ask why buy an aftermarket header, and then half ass the tune?

Exactly. If you can't pay to play, then don't look down on others because they can't.

Dude is pointing and laughing like: Haha, you bought a header and didn't get a tune.

I'm like: Hahah, you bought a welfare tune.

Alright, shit just got real.

Mr. California, since you're going to attack me directly by my location, then why are all your dumbass people moving to Austin, TX? Yeah, explain that one for me idiot.

If you're serious about performance and you're looking at a header, you should realize that you're already in the league of needing a tune. Part A typically leads to part B and part C. Things come together. Let me guess, you buy a turbo or supercharger and everything is included for performance, right?

Enjoy your emissions and 91 octane asshole. I'll enjoy my catless header, 93 octane, and lower cost of living. Also, please tell your idiots to stop moving here, you're ruining my city.

Geographical attacks on the side... lets try to get back on topic. I too am also looking forward to seeing the logs. Very curious as to what is happening with the header+OFT combo.
