And what, may I ask, makes you say that? It looks like a typical Subaru exhaust.

Actually it's not. If you look carefully, it's UEL header, while '90 to current NA impreza are EL header... but I'm pretty sure RWD_only wasn't talking bout that.

Actually, I think the pre-08 NA Imprezas were UEL, not 100% sure, but close...

I would say that if the ft86 has a boxer and depending if they change how the motor actually mounts in the ft86 the 3.3 H6 EG block from the subaru SVX or the new 3.6 H6 EZ block from the Tribeca would probably be the easiest in terms of the motor just dropping in, wiring is a whole other issue.

I have seen some videos of H6 swapped GC impreza, this is on the more extreme end of the scale. But ohhh..... that 911-esk noise it makes

Only reason I say "if" is because is for that faint chance when the production model is announced there is a change.

Trust me, I want the boxer.

Nope, I own '00 RS and I know for sure it was EL header.
OEM header:

Borla rep UEL header:

Note: Yes, it's been coated with high temp spray paint. Why Bright Orange? Cuz local store only had Orange or Blue.

Anyways, you get my point.

@ tougerenner
I so want to put H6 engine into my gc8. I so love the exhaust note they make... but I ask local swap shop and they said it's bout same amount of $$$$ to do WRX engine swap... but some day, H6 with STI's 6sp tranny gonna be install into my Impreza.

H6 with 6spd in a GC would be sweet. You would basically be getting the power of a STi with no lag what what so ever all in a lighter package to boot. Yea, I hear what your saying about the $$$$ I guess it really has to do with what your end goals are for your car.

I dont know if you are on http://www.rs25.com/ but are is quite a few people over there H6 swapped.

Here is the thread containing the run down on that EFI logics track car from the videos. I believe EFI Logics can do the swap for street applications but they are on the east coast.
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1652549

But look at these beautiful headers that EFI Logics track car has.

yup, I've been remember of RS25 for quite long time. I have almost same alias (ichitaka_is).

I remember first time EFI show their H6 Impreza. That's one of the reason why I wanted to do the H6 swap. IIRC EFI only have WRX or RS tranny.

I think, I have almost all the pics of all the H6 swap imprezas on RS25.

Good luck getting a 20b in that car, I wanna put one in my fc and I still would have to do a lot of remounting. And a four rotor is rediculus
