What did I do with my BRZ? Well, I finally got my 2018 BRZ from the dealer (not a ts edition). Got the windows tinted and the body and wheels coated with four layers of Nano ceramic coating 💃

By the way, I'm trying to upload some photos from my iPhone but the dimensions exceed the limits! Any advice to do that from an iPhone very very quickly?

Thanks in advance

26% sounds awfully low considering the amount of elbow grease that went into the mod.. I think you're too conservative. Is this a Canadian thing?

Yeah, it's a common thing..exceeding limits. Try matching the size requested.

It is metric.

That makes all the difference, no point playing with fractions... 3/8ths I think could have done the job..

Drove it!

Not a big deal for most, but the vehicle I put the order in for on February 26th finally arrived at the dealer today, and they were able to get it prepped and ready for delivery. Picked it up a little bit ago.

This is actually my first time driving a BRZ (none around to test drive when I ordered), and in fact I'd only sat in one twice, both times at the local auto show. So I was kind of coming in to it based on faith. Wasn't too worried, as I knew what I was getting into, and in fact every car I've ever owned I've never had a test drive in the model I was buying, even my Evo IX MR which I had shipped from California.

So, yeah, even though I only drove it home from the dealer, it was still great to finally get behind the wheel. Have to get up at 2:30 for work so no time to have fun with it tonight, but at least my commute to/from work is on some pretty nice twisty roads, so even though I have to keep it below 4000 rpm for the break in period, I still should have some fun with it, assuming the weather holds out - the forecast is calling for rain all week.

A bunch of small stuff over the last few weeks:

- Dumped the stock tires for 225/45/17 Pilot Super Sports (daily's)
- 12mm wheel spacers (for daily's)
- Whiteline 20mm front sway bar
- Factory crash bolts
- Fresh RE71 race tires
- Autocross oriented alignment - as much camber as could be coaxed from "factory" settings for SCCA CS.

Yes. It's a good shop. It was tempting to sneak in the SPC bolts on mine, since no one would be the wiser on the local level, but I'd feel too guilty

I did the same thing when I bought mine - when I ordered the dealer only had one on the lot and it had already been sold so I couldn't test drive it, just got to sit in it. First time I drove a BRZ was bringing mine home from the dealer.

I would have had to travel just to sit in one if not for the Pittsburgh Auto Show. Sat in one in 2017 and again in 2018, but that was the extent of it. Would have probably had to also travel to Pittsburgh to get a test drive, which is 1 1/2 to 2 hours away. Not easy to find time with my work schedule. Plus, it was still February, which probably wouldn't be the greatest on the stock tires here in Western, PA!

My local dealer hasn't had one on the lot for about 3-4 years from what they said, so they were pretty much relying on me to know what I wanted since they have no practical experience with the car.

Cross posted from my build thread:
WHAT A DAY GUYS. First track day after the turbo install, I was feelin good, lapping really well in the first session.

5 laps in, an oil cooler line decided that it no longer liked its job and developed a small hole. OIL. EVERYWHERE.
Car had to be put on a trailer and pulled off track. It took 6 bags of some chemical to clean up the spill.

Thankfully, this track has a bunch of performance shops along the pits, so the guys at DogHouse Performance rerouted my oil cooler lines and made me all new lines with brand new fittings. They got my brz back up and running in time to make the very last session of the day, where I set a personal best time.
They also let me put up my time on their board because I was so proud of it.
