Practice finding the clutch release point first. How quickly you go through the release point is what lets you move. Release too quick and you jerk the car.

Release it too slow, and you risk riding/burning the clutch yeah? I just need practice lol. Hopefully today kanundrum will be free today and give me some pointers.

Don't worry about clutch burning in first gear.

Too slow and you are riding it, which risks burning it. This is my first manual and I'm still pretty jerky in 1st and on the 1st->2nd shift.

You and I are on the same boat then. I've accidentally burned it once (never again). It's only because I live on a hill and my driveway is on a hill too. It makes it tough for newcomers like me.

LOL. Same problem here. Burned it more than once parking on my driveway. Not so much these days; you just get used to it. You can't avoid burning the clutch when you're learning...and it IS a wear item after all. Granted it's an expensive wear item, but I'm not too sad about burning clutch every now and again.

If and when I out today, I'll take pictures so that you can see the things I have to deal with every morning. I always wondered what burned clutch smelled like. I smelt it today, and it's the car's way of saying "fuck you" lol.

Are we having a steep hill competition now? I'll get out my protractor and measure the angle of the driveway. I can't do the same for the road since it's just one big hill.

On another note, I love not having to downshift when I'm exiting out of 95. Takes corners like a breeze. Speaking of 95, I cruise control 65mph when driving to/from school and it's at 2800 rpm. The auto has it around 2500 (it'd be awesome to have that on the manual)

Throw some sticky rubber on it. On my brand new (read: greasy) Pilot Super Sports I took the exit to Stephen's Rd off 216 at 70mph+ in the cold! LOL.

It's all built, just waiting to put it together. Scheduled an alignment for Friday afternoon, so I guess I'm installing it sometime before then. LOL.

Those bumpstops took a good 10 minutes each. Puny muscles lol.
