My prodrives have about 25mm more clearance than the stock wheels. Im wondering if that is going to be enough.
Okay the distance from the rotor hat to the furthest out point on the caliper near the spokes is about 1.5" or about 38 mm. My 18x8 +42 wheels only have about 1/4" or about 6 mm of clearance.

So I just got off the phone with the kids over at AP Raring, and they're going to be putting together a 326mm front and 316mm rear rotor set with 5x100 hats for me. Project Suuupa Grrripa in effect

If you're looking for cheap 17" wheels that will clear brembo's check out the XXR 522's. I run the 17x8" with a +48 offset on both my STI and the BRZ. The goal was to add larger callipers on the BRZ so I chose a wheel I liked the looks of with the ability to add bigger brakes down the road. These come in flat black and chrome black as well. Also come in an 18x8.5 +48 for guys looking to run larger wheels. My 17's weigh 21lbs each.

Steve

Great thread and informative. I may consider this setup should R comp tires prove to be too much for the stock braking system.

OT: King Tut, why did you decide to get rid of the Cayman R in favor of the BRZ?

Are the rear rotors dual-drilled STI rotors? Or WRX rotors?
