My personal observation is that they dust but they generally should not squeal. I find that brake squeal also depends on how well bedded in the pads are. If I get a good bedding in, and the rotors are nice and blue when I park the car to cool down, then I know I did it right, and generally, the pads will be quiet.

Keep in mind, you can always use BP10's for street. Because this is a very popular race pad configuration, pads are cheap... about $70 for BP10's.

I see the new 4 piston front kit on your website. I assume 4 lbs weight savings over stock is for front set, not per side. Will this kit work with stock wheels?

Looks really nice, what is the front piston diameter?

I am not quite sure yet if it will fit stock wheels. We may be doing an install on a customer car next week, so I will update. This kit uses the thick 0.8" pads, so it requires a bit more clearance than our Stage I.

Website looks like it might have typo. It lists 0.65" pad thickness.

Looking forward to more info, customer install

Any possibility of offering the 4pot street kit with black calipers standard? Just asking because the stage 2 kit would only be a tiny bit more if I wanted black.

You guys are killing me! I just spent about half that on track pads. I'm definitely looking into your $749 kit once my Club Racers are toast. Can't wait to read some reviews.

Sorry, we updated pricing and other things due to errors in the writeup of the new kit.

Price is actually $775.

We are calling it "Sport" performance rather than "Street" performance. Reason is that this is a totally track worthy kit, there should be no confusion about that! in fact we will be marketing it to the Spec 86 guys, who need a budget BBK that gets the job done, and reduces pad replacement costs.

The main differences between our "Sport Performance 4 Piston" and our other kits are:

(1) Sport Performance 4 piston kit is not upgradeable like the Stage I and II's. With those kits, you can always upgrade to our Competition 2 piece rotors.

(2) Sport Performance 4 piston kit requires more caliper clearance than the Stage I kit, but less than Stage II kit.

(3) 4 piston calipers vs. 6 piston calipers in our Stage I - IV. Brake bias is the same as our Stage I-IV kits.

(4) Price: you save about $175 versus our 6 piston kits.

We will use the Wilwood Powerlite 4 piston. This is a billet 4 piston caliper, and only weighs 2.26lbs each (without mounting bracket).

Only downside to this caliper vs. what we use in our Stage I and II kits is the smaller pad size. Overall pad area for the Powerlites is a bit greater than OEM STi.

I put together this pic just to illustrate the differences in rear pad configurations for our Stage I&II vs. our new Sport 4 Piston kit, vs. STi (of course the problem with STi rear calipers is that the piston are way too small and do not give enough rear bias on the BRZ).

+1 here. Black caliper as standard option would be great.

Looks like black anodized is now a listed option on the website. Very happy about this. I'll be getting this kit when my current pad selection runs out for sure.

Yeah, we are working on a new logo for the black anodized calipers. We really like the anodizing, because obviously it is more durable than high temp paint or powder coat if you track the car. BUT, we have put a lot of development into these kits, and would rather they say "RR Racing" on the caliper rather than Wilwood (as much as we like the Wilwood forged race calipers).

I will post updated pics soon of our black anodized caliper options.

Hi All,

We just wanted to congratulate Phil and Element Tuning on their 2015 Whelen Time Attack Championship win. Phil is running our Stage 4 front and Stage 2 rear Competition setup. We are very proud of the performance and value that we have built into our kits, and we have put considerable resources into track proving our products. Our competition can say what they want... but the fact is, you can spend double or triple the price, and you will not find a finer race proven BBK for your 86! Big thanks goes out to Phil for all his support and feedback this past season.

One more question about the e-brake functionality :

Can we still use it for up hill start ? (holding the car).
My garage exit is kinda hard
