They're hidden under the cloth wrapped around the fob, I can take it apart and show you pictures if you'd like.

@ZOMFGAARON I have heard of this method, but it is no the blade in the part that rotates, but rather the part that rotates has a bit of wobble.

Took a lot of BS work to get the transponder out. The hammer and razor did the most work, just had to be SUPER careful. Transponder circled in red.
I bought the white flip case to match my car.

If you want to save yourself the valet key just go and get a blank key from a lock smith or from Toyota that has a transponder (not buttons) and get them to program it but not cut. Then you can keep the valet keys, and the cases for your stock keys.

The transferring of remote onto a flip shell is usually bulky. The last flip shell posted with the fake leather has been the most reliable one used in my shop Until i started using the flip keys with custom circuit boards. Much better quality. Below shows cheap shell you transfer remote into and a custom board above.

Is this DIY-able? If so how is it done?

No. It's 100% new designed board tweaked to the frequency of certain toyota/Lexus vehicles. Has Toyota logo on the back. You can placed a blank chip or an already programmed one.

Seems expensive.

Oh crap. I've spent a couple of days looking up this stuff and realized I have a newer style key as well.

So does that mean I'm out of luck for the shell style that everyone else is using? I really like those.

Also, where'd you get your shell?

If your key is exactly like mine than the older style will not work.

I purchased my set from amazon. Not the cheapest place but I received them fast.

I converted both of my remote keys to flip keys like shown in tumbla.jr's post above. I took the new flip-keys to a locksmith who charged me $2.00 per blank to make my keys. Well worth the price and both keys work great. The locksmith had to remove a pin holding the key blank in the flip-key. He removed the flip-key blank, cut it and reinstalled it into the flip-key all for $2.00. The hardest part is digging the transmitter out of the Scion remote keys. There is a little cut out section in the flip-keys to put the transmitter into. I am satisfied with my flip-keys, been working great for almost a year.

Yes I'm that guy reviving a 3 year old thread. I bought a flip key case off eBay for 10 bucks. Cracked open one of my keys....pulled transponder chip and the rest of the guts and transferred it over. Went and got key cut at locksmith which was damn near perfectly cut. Put key all back together and put in ignition and it starts to fire up then just quits. I'm assuming it's something to do with the transponder chip? I used a heat gun to get it loosened enough to pull out of original so is it possible the heat was too much for it? I thought I used it very carefully as to not damage it but does anyone else have any ideas?

Edit: nevermind, people just posted in here so I'm not a total Asshole.
