So today me and a buddy got into a debate on the crush washer on our frs

And he said it mattered which way the crush washer faces when you put it on the drain plug and I said it doesn't matter .

He says that the flat side has to rest in the drain plug and the curved part goes to the pan

When I did the oil change it came with the curved part sitting on the drain plug and the flat one on the pan. So I put it back like that .

What do you guys think about this subject?

Yeah that's what I'm saying too ..it gets crushed so why would it matter?

I never really thought twice about it since my friend is making a big deal about it lol

I mean had my car 3 years and never had a leak and I'm sure I put the crush washer on different ways

Anyone else has any input?

Much needed car wash and detailing day. First time claybarring the whole care. Massive pain in the ass, but it looks like it was necessary.

Filed an insurance claim against the woman who hit it sigh. Only cosmetic damage, but for a brand new 2017 it's so painful to look at.

Make sure you request the "diminished value" as a part of the claim. As this will require a replacement of that fender and possibly the bumper, you'll lose the VIN tag on those panels. This is the first thing dealers and discerning buyers check to see if the car was in an accident.

If you ask for the diminished value, they have to give it to you, if you don't mention it, they won't offer it.

Good luck.

Thank you so much for that, that's something I'd never even heard of until now. Will 100% be doing this now.
