If that airbag light is the same as Imprezas, you can buy a test plug from Subaru, which clicks in properly, and will cancel out the light.
I've had my resistor pop out many times on my WRX, and the airbag didn't deploy. From what I know, if there is a break in the airbag circuit, the airbags wont work. |

I know this is an old post, but how do you unplug the yellow airbag plug under the seat? I need to remove the passenger seat and can't get it. I pushed on the whit button part and it slid forward but is there a secondary lock mechanism? Help.

It was awhile ago but I all i remember doing was pushing down and pulling out. I'll try to check my passenger seat tomorrow, and if I cant' get to it I can check the seat that is out this weekend.

I got it figured out, i just wasn't pushing the button in quite far enough to release completely, poked it with a small screwdriver and it came right out. Thanks though.

Just keep in mind that will work for the drivers seat but not 100% for the passenger. We ran into this when we put my seats in.
The passenger seat has the seat senor in it and the car wants it to be plugged in. When we did the resistor in the passenger airbag the car took a few seconds and threw the airbag light and the passenger airbag was set to off. You can not put a resistor in the seat sensor, does not work. The only way we were able to fix it was to remove the little seat sensor out from under the seat cover. We thought about putting it inside the Evo seat but taking the cover off the evo seat is a lot harder. So we just took it, folded it up and tucked it under the carpet. Now the car throws no lights and the passenger airbag is always on. I have to keep the seatbelt plugged in to stop the nanny warning so I ordered the techstream software because they said you can shut that off with it. If I ever get the seats recovered I will have the sensor put in it. My blog explains it all: http://www.jadecrew.com/custom-recar...seats-in-fr-s/ |
