I wouldn't mind ordering from eastern states but the freight is too pricey. Last time I had my car delivered to me from Qld it cost like $1500 and arrived covered in red dust plus a broken front lip (had lowered springs but still.....) which then started a 3 week saga to get compensation. They tried every trick and excuse imaginable to not pay a compo. In the end the compo money received was just not worth the time and effort spent on seeking it. I just wouldn't trust a brand new car to any freight companies no matter how big they are....too risky.
Not to worry! Toyota actually wrote a memo to Dealers saying on 10 July last year 2/3 months for a GT. I had ordered mine a week before that and true to form, believing in 'Honest Mr Toyota' that car will finally arrive at the Dealers 25 May, a week short of ELEVEN MONTHS!!!!! I think a copy of that memo appears on page 9 or thereabouts

Just cross your fingers and pray!

Anyway, I don't drive mine - I sit in the garage and look at it! It doesn't stop raining!!

And when it's fine?

Don't worry, a few of us that already have ours will still come here and support you all during the wait me, Cuddefred and im sure The Demons when his arrives in a few weeks!

For the year, yesterday morning it reached exactly 1000mm, then another 20mm last night and damn heavy, so 1020mm and I think looking at the sky another drenching later!

Saw some people at BP Southbound this morning, Tornado Grey GTS MT from 'Grand Motors'. They went in test drove and loved it until told 9 months plus wait, were walking out when the Sales Manager grabbed them and said 'cancellation thru no finance, what colour are you after?' They said Tornado Grey and had it in THREE WEEKS!! Nice people, find the same as me that 1st to 2nd when cold is knotchy but OK after a few km's

'The Demons' is getting closer now, due 20 days now so not long for him after such a long wait. Can be tracked as it's on 'Trans Future 7' and should almost be to Townsville now if North Korea leave it alone!!

For those who want to follow, just google 'Trans Future 7' and click on 'current location' - will only show if in range

: slap:

We've run the gammut of emotions!! hahahahaha, and now?

For some reason WA is totally different to the rest of Australia, some guys have even picked theirs up from the docks after the ship arrived [bit hard of course if the ship hasn't docked!!] Unfortunately you don't get the 'tracking' like eastern States which has a series of 'drop boxes' showing progress thru each stage. Also not sure what the demand is in WA but there have been quite a few posts on this topic from WA people over the past 9 months or more

Hang in there 'Fizz' it WILL come and the wait will be totally worth it!

I can't seem to get an update on Trans Future 7. It is reporting no updates for the past 9 days on all marine tracking websites. Any one got any further information on the whereabouts of this ship?!

I'ts about 200 miles from Brisbane, be back in range of the AIS reporting soon...

http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/dat...ode=&B1=Search

Hover over the "Position Received UTC" and you'll see the lat/long.

At 2013-04-08 20:03 UTC (about 06:03 am this morning AEST?) she was 23.64'S 154.082'E

She'll make Brisbane tomorrow :-)

Don't even THINK about one of our ships sinking!

Most of those tracking sites use coastal AIS (which is line-of-sight) so up to ~150 miles from the coast (depending on the hight of the receiver.)

You can get open-ocean AIS, but that costs money. (I was thinking of hooking into that, but my wife vetoed the US$40 / month for basic access.)

Maybe Julia should get it as an 'app' so she can see the constant flow from the north!!

How's the GTS going mate? Still think that's so funny that the truck with YOUR car passed your wife!

Demons

Hey, bypassed Townsville and about to come past my place, should go over to Woorim Beach and see! If daylight I could have taken a pic and sent - OK, I'd say within 24 hours it will have been in and out and on to Port Kembla which is really only 24 hours if that south!
