Die-electric grease is a big help, though a bit greasy but transparent, just wipe on rubber areas, weatherstrips etc, water will not freeze to it. Works on your door latch as well

I think oil will degrade rubber in the long term.

The issue is the windows freezing in the door, NOT against the weather striping/body.

Putting greese along the window frame in the door will just make it a messy mess every time you roll it down and real hard to get rid off.

Hmm.. glad I am not picking the car up until after the winter! Hopefully by next winter they will have some sort of a fix. Fortunately I park indoors at night, but not at work...

My windows freeze up once in a while in Toronto, so I have to do the Reset and it works again. one time I had to reset just the passenger side.

Passenger side window is stuck now and no "auto" flashing light. In fact, the passenger window buttons lights (on both doors) aren't illuminate anymore.
Window still moving up/down slightly when I open the door but that's it.
Does this mean the fuse is blown or else?

Yeah, definitely not a problem that the manual can help you with. That's a warranty solution for sure.

Had no free time lately but will try first to check fuse box this week-end to see if that's the problem...

If the lights are out, it sounds like the fuse popped.

Seems not. Checked both sides fuses in the engine bay fuse box and they're ok.

I'm puzzled.

When opening the passenger side door, the window drops an inch like suppose to but window switch ain't working still and the "auto" light isn't illuminated (that on both side switch). Why window moving when opening the door and not with both switch???

Embarrassing...the problem was the "cancel" switch for passenger side window that was triggered (on drivers door next to the door lock switch).
Gee never tought of it (on a two door car) and didn't notice it was activated...
Learned something today!

Haha, oops!

I had my window freeze up for the first time last night, the car had been sitting for a few days outside and with the swinging temps it froze up nicely.

Some observations...

1) The window wasn't stuck to the top seal at all on either door, opened very easily.
2) The window WAS frozen to the bottom seal. When trying to raise or lower the window I could see the seal moving with the window (on both doors). I slid a plastic card between the window and the seal to free them from each other and everything was peachy. After freeing things up and re-setting the switch everything worked as usual.
3) Another car parked for the same amount of time right beside mine did not have the windows frozen to the bottom seals, so maybe it's something in the seals along the top edge of the door causing the issue?

No issues with the car this morning, everything was back to normal even with the -10 temps.

My car has developed a window issue. The passenger side window will not return to the fully up position when the door is closed. The window will roll down correctly on door open and the passenger side door switch works. What doesn't work is the driver side switch for the passenger window. The replacement for the "master switch" is on order through Subaru Canada but it has no ETA yet. Anybody else waiting on parts?

This has happened to me, but only after I wash the car. I park my car in the garage so was quite surprised the windows froze. Since then I lower the windows about an inch overnight after a wash. Haven't had the problem since.
